Jerry Richardson and the LA franchise moves

Can someone explain to me the Big Cats interest in the LA moves?  It seems like he has some pretty serious influence in the matter and I'm not entirely sure why.  I'm sure someone here can make the connection for me.

For example:

@LAtimesfarmer: Because LA Committee is privy to information on both Carson & Inglewood plans, the Jerry Richardson involvement is particularly interesting.

idk, man. I try not to think about things like that. Like, what will happen to the team once the BigCat passes and the team is sold, as wished? I'm sure it will stay in Charlotte but will it be the Panthers? Richardson has instilled such a family like environment, I'd hate to see that image changed.

Richardson is a member of the Committee on Los Angeles Opportunities, which is composed of six owners

So, basically, he wants to have sway with the whole league. That was an avenue to do it. See also: the lockout and his involvement on that front.

JR is a business man. Half of his interest is this franchise's success, the other half is the success of the league/him being involved in league-wide decision making.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Also, with where this franchise is heading with the success, the team isn't moving. This team will stay in Charlotte. No chance they move it.

Guys , can we stop the JR-LA, Carolina -LA threads. JR (as stated above) is the head of some powerful committees within the league. Don't misinterpret this. Our Panthers aren't going ANYWHERE. Trust me on this one.  San Diego, St. Louis and Oakland are jockeying for a move, but no one else is.

Jerry is the most influential of all the owners, that's why. He was the pointman during the last CBA negotiations remember? They were smearing him left and right for it.

False. He is not the most influential. that is between the Maras and the Rooneys.

Jerry was the face of the labor negotiations, since it looked better for a former player to lock out the players than owners. The last CBA were primarily between big and small market teams.

JR gets a sliver of the entire NFL pie. He wants that NFL pie to be as big as it can possibly be, because that would make his sliver as big as it can possibly be.

    • I wouldn’t be surprised if the Pats win it all or at least get there. Maye is awesome.
    • Young quarterbacks Drake Maye, Bo Nix, and Bryce Young have led their teams to undefeated records since October.   Drake Maye has guided the New England Patriots to a 5-0 record in that period, with 2,285 passing yards and 17 touchdowns in nine games. Bo Nix has directed the Denver Broncos to a 5-0 stretch, throwing for 1,976 yards and 17 touchdowns, contributing to a 7-2 overall start. Bryce Young, in his second season, has led the Carolina Panthers to a 4-0 run since October, accumulating 1,390 yards and 11 touchdowns amid a 4-4 record.   Undefeated QBs since start of October (min. 4 starts)   Drake Maye 5-0 Bo Nix 5-0 Bryce Young 4-0   Bryce Young when asked about his mindset during game winning drives: "You don’t rise to the occasion you fall back to the level of your training."
    • 1. Cowboys-No explanation needed. 2. Rest of NFC South equally. If I had to pick I would say Falcons.    3. Eagles- Both of the games I have attended there the fans were so horrible. The fan base is so ridiculously misbehaved, I’ve never seen such immaturity. 4- Lions- I have cousins in Michigan that grew up Lions fans and they are some of the most obnoxious people I have ever met, as are all of their Lions buddies. The NFL has been lucky that Detroit has been in the cellar for its eternity.    5. Tie between Bears and Vikings. Both act like Steelers, Cowboys, Niners fans do with nostalgia and legendary seasons but neither have ever really had them. They act like they each won 5 super bowls in previous decades but never accomplished poo outside of Chicago in 85.
