Went through Mcaddenville last night to see the lights (family tradition), I promise, for every Merry Christmas we heard, it was either followed or preceded by GO PANTHERS!

quick story, we were stuck in traffic about 300 yards from a Hardee's and I had to pee, I jumped out and started waliking. Up ahead was a little family, mom and 2 kids.  The older one, a boy, saw me coming and in as low a voice as he could muster said, J-Steeeeeww.  I was wearing my old 28 jersey.  It made me blush.

I feel like a dirty fug using them on madden.  Its like im cheating

cam is 97 now

Ive always used them on Madden online. I quit using them and now play them every game. The last few years people used San Fran and Seattle, before that New England.

You can tell people dont really give a poo about the Panthers by the way they set their lineups.

I remember using Matt Moore at qb and having to play the Patriots.

With that being said I dont think you can consider locals who just started caring bandwagon fans, although it is annoying.

I always imagine when Cam gives away footballs to the kiddies, he's secretly creating an army of Panther fans across the nation years down the road.  Kids across the nation will want to be Panther fans because they want their chance to get a football.

Yesterday there was a kid in front me of me with his Dad, the kid was probably about 5 maybe 6 years old and Ted Ginn walked up to us and gave this kid his game day gloves after his two touch downs. Then later in the fourth, I think, Gano was walking by and stopped, and gave the SAME kid the hat off his head. It was really amazing to see the joy on that kids face, I know he had a really great day.

I said to my friend the same thing. That kid will be a Panthers fan for life now. The army is certainly growing.

I made sure to rub lots of dirt on my new flatbrim so it looks like I've been a fan for years

I got my newest hat in August,  Still looks pretty new. I don't care, I know who I am, and you can tell the newest fans, they seem to be good for nothing but trying to prove they've been fans longer than the last full moon. Bless their hearts.

I love all the new fans and attention the team is getting and I'm sure some new lifelong fans are being born this year.  But at the same time they won't enjoy this as much as the fans that sat through all the shitty years.  A number of new fans are just Cam Newton fans and that's fine.  LeBron has as more fans than entire NBA franchises.  Cam might get to that point soon.

So much truth here.  And you can't help but be happy for the little guys because making memories is what it is all about.

That being said, gotta call out the bandwagon fans even if they belong to your team.  I was in row 11 just to the side of the falcon tunnel and people bringing their kids to get to the front row is normally adorable.  But the guy that sat in front of me with preppy green and white clothes and his wife dressed in black but no Panther stuff brought their adorable 6 year old.  Kid was just a little too adorable with a Cam jersey.  The husband paid no attention to the game while mom hovered over kid and both kept going down to railing.  Attendant kept sending them back.  Then they would send the kid only.  Amazingly, they disappeared the entire 2nd quarter when our end zone was on other side.  Can only imagine the process being repeated over there.

Third quarter, right on time, they were back.  I waited to see if they would rotate for the 4th quarter but when DA came out they just left for the day.

Their is a price to pay for success.

Gotta wonder what celebritys will have their children donning Cam jerseys and lining the front row of the end zone vying for a Superbowl TD prize.

I have no problem with bandwagon fans.  Many of us were fans of other teams before the Panthers started.  Most of you die hard panther fans came on board in 2003 or 2005 or 2008, etc.  This is no different.  We will have tons more fans as we go forward and many of those will not stay Panther fans. But many others will.  And I welcome all of them.  There is plenty of room on this train.  For those who have been fans a long time this season is just sweeter because we have been on the train for a long time.  Bandwagon fans are going to have fun but not like us.  So welcome them aboard.  It takes nothing away from all of us.
