Strong Safety

Right or wrong, since we showed some fair amount of interest in him I wonder if we are looking at Su'a Cravens to potentially fill the SS role if we can get him in the second, but unless we trade up I bet he wont be there, and we may not feel he is worth a first rd pick.  He is a "hybrid player" (that term really annoys me but I am using it because it seems to be the standard tag for guys like him) who can play LB and S. Pundits talk about him playing the Will but he started at SS in 2014 and did pretty well there. He would also  help fill out ST as well.

The best 2 positions in this draft are at DT and DB.

I fully believe we'll come out of this draft with a DT, DE, CB, SS and a RB or DE.

This class is so deep at those 2 positions that I think we could get BPA in the first 3 rounds at positions of need.

i wouldn't be surprised if we get a LB, in the later rpunds to groom a replacement for Shaq once Shaq moves over to SLB once TD retires.

Since our D depends so much on the front 4 and their ability to get pressue i would assume thats the direction we will go early in the draft.  To me ill take a stud filled D line in our system over the secondary which is why i think we should use our resources at other positions as opposed to saftey.  Either way it shapes out the back end of the defence is looking really good.

Per our visits, it seems we're looking at the bigger guys for SS that can play in the box.

Miles Killebrew 6'2 216

Su'a Cravens 6'1 226

Jayron Kearse 6'4 216

We def take a S in one of the first 3 rounds, IMO.  Too many great names out there that would look great in Panther black and blue.

I personally like Neal, Cravens and Cash, though guys like Joseph, Thompson and DHC would be great pickups too.  I think we snag a safety that gets cut or roll with Boston as our starter.  Boston is adequate, and no worse than Harper/Godfrey, IMO.  Coleman and JNo will make his job easier, and our front 7 should lend even more help. I personally have been begging for a stud safety draft prospect for a loooonnnggggg time.  Love what DG has done late, but really hope we find a guy soon.  No guarantee Coleman gets re-upped if he balls out again this year.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Leave Coleman at FS, bring in competition at SS, let Boston rotate in to keep the guys fresh. (Unless he makes a significant jump, he will be no more than a key backup again)

This..
