And when San Fran comes calling wanting him to visit and offering $500k more per year? And then another team joins the bidding war? And he actually can't even officially sign anywhere tomorrow. He changed agents so nothing can be official for a certain # of days.

Didn't his previous agent stay on as co to avoid the time restriction.

When he was much younger I bet he dreamed about the money. For a good part of his life the money might have been his "ring". It's not until he reaches that goal will he realize the next goals is unattainable.

SF is a negotiation ploy to get as much money (which he deserves) from one of the teams on the east coast to sign him.  Washington makes a ton of sense given the proximity to NC. Josh wants to be in Carolina, but knows this opportunity is probably his last to get paid big time dough, and I don't fault him for it. Like DG said, it's business.

If Josh can't be in Carolina and close to his family and inner circle, Washington, Atlanta, Tampa, Jax and Miami make a ton of sense. Florida teams also don't have tax, so if he really wants to maximize his dollar, I think all 3 of those are in play.

Regardless of where he goes, none of those teams can offer him the chance at a ring or two in the next few years.  Tampa might be the closest, but they are still a few years off.. IMO.

    • yeah, Panther PR has done the Tepper is taking a backseat PR tour before.   It wasn't true at all the first time we saw them attempt that.   All the stuff you are referencing is stuff produced and put out by the Panthers.  I'm not acting like owners aren't in the war room.   I'm just saying Tepper is a proven commodity.  He is what he is.  And his tenure with BOTH his professional sports teams tell the exact same story about him.   He is not patient.  He didn't show patience last year.  He moved on from an absurd investment 2 games into the season.....and a frankly unimaginable turnaround by Bryce that was only allowed by injury reset some things.  I'm sure a billion times Raiders or Dallas or whatever fans convinced themselves their owners turned a new leaf too.  I'm not buying that.  There just isn't anything supporting Tepper isn't Tepper IMO.
    • Well last year the first team offense struggled against the Bills 3rd string defense. First string offense needed to convert a 4th down to score a TD.  If the starters play against backups and do what they are supposed to do, score easily, I’d say the reps are worth it. Would make me feel better. Unlike last preseason.
    • This right here. You also don’t want your 2 nd string oline going against their starting Dline and risk injury to whoever is taking snaps
