Star's 5th year option picked up

wanna know something funny

back when i wasn't coming around for a while due to life poo happening i still occasionally needed an irritating football opinion fix so i started checking michael procton's twitter on occasion

long story short if you're not familiar that guy's hatred of cam newton runs so deep that he convinces himself that anything tangentially related to him (like the general manager who paid him like a franchise quarterback) is overrated or sucks.  i saw him get into a slap fight with somebody over marty hurney and he seriously said that sione fua was a good pick because he was still in the NFL at the time.  so that's one person who is still in fua's corner.

THIS.  IS.  AWESOME.  NEWS.

Not strictly because it solidifies our defensive front, but it also shows that the coaching staff trust Star's foot now.  This also makes TONS of sense if we draft another DT, and look to trade Star.  <--I don't want to do that, but in the NFL, it's all about VALUE and that 5th year option helps keep ALL possibilities open.

    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
    • Nah we just talking about giving a platform and normalizing predators (who both beat women) opinions and celebrating it if it fits your narrative.  If that's fun I'm fine being a miserable fug by not supporting P.O.S like that. N b4 you call me a libtard or some other dumb ish know I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian and believe both these dudes should get a complete ass whooping (at min) or something worse for what they have done to women in this world.
