This is literally the first time I heard anything about Chris Gamble since he retired. I've tried Googling him a couple times since he retired to see what he was up to nowadays.

No interviews, no social media, no anything. Really quiet guy and never really got the respect he deserves.

And allegedly he is almost Scrooge-level with his money. Didn't someone here claim that he lived in college student apartments?

Pretty sure he lives in the weddington area.  Least thats what some of the other ups drivers have told me.

Steve smith and jon beason lived in the same area.

one of my favorite tidbits was that in either 2011 or 2012 gamble and darrelle revis were virtually the same according to PFF, but one was an all pro and the other wasn't.  opposing QBs throwing at gamble had a passer rating that was in the low single digits better than revis.

e: probably 2011 because revis was IR'd in 2012

I think I found our guy then

"Fourth-year junior from Houston. "He's Chris Gamble," one scout said. "That (mental) is going to be a key for him. At one time this was going to be everybody's sleeper." Had a 10 on the Wonderlic. "It is not ideal, but at corner you cover the receiver," a second scout said. "You play defensive end, you rush the passer. I like him. Doesn't run quite as well as you'd like but makes up for it with length." Started 26 of 39 games, finishing with 98 tackles (5 ½ for loss), 10 picks and 23 PBUs. "Man cover corner," a third scout said. "He is tough to throw on. Not a lot of balls completed on him. He tracks the ball well. He is physical."

Solid guy but yeah, didn't hear much of anything about him after he retired. Had to look up to remember injuries got the better of him and we eventually let him go. Unfortunately, I still remember his botched lateral against Minnesota but I don't hold that against him anymore. It will be nice to see him again.

Gamble played at a high level longer than Josh

Josh's 2015 season was better than any Gamble had....and is still going

Let's not forget that Gamble had great years with a respectable front 7 but arguably his best years with guys like Fua, McClain, Brayton, Dan Connor, and Sherrod Martin on the field instead of Star, Short, CJ, Luke, and Coleman.
