That’s why Anderson turned down overtures from other teams that showed interest over the past few seasons.

“I was on so many bad teams and then some frustrating situations," he said. “Why would I put myself in a situation where I could be in a [bad] situation when I can be in a situation with these guys, a good team, a great staff?

Life is good right now for the Carolina Panthers.

That says a lot more about our QB history (or lack thereof) than it does about Derek. Jake in his prime was a borderline top 10 QB. Cam is a stud. Other than that... oh wee mayne.

The Broncos just traded up to take a QB in the 1st round. The Rams and Eagles just took QBs #1 and #2 overall. At most DA would be a stopgap on a short leash in those places. 

The Texans just gave Osweiler a ton of money. He's their guy at this point. 

The Cowboys have Romo. Despite the jokes, the guy is damn good. They have Foles backing him up who has better production as a starter than DA and is several years younger.

Matt Ryan is a good QB. I know we all like to joke him, but he's an above average starting QB and no one would take DA over Ryan as their starter. 

The Titans have Mariotta who they took #2 overall and has shown good promise. 

The Bengals have Andy Dalton who is a top 10 starting NFL QB. 

Of all the teams you listed, the Niners would be the only shot DA would have to go in and win the job outright and not constantly be looking over his shoulder, but then again with Chip Kelly who knows. 

DA is an above average backup QB. Nothing more, nothing less. We barely squeak by the worst team in the league twice in 2014-2015 with him starting and half of our fans act like hes a top 10 NFL QB. 

 

I guess even when you have the reigning NFL MVP at QB, the backup QB is still the most beloved player on the roster...

      Dave in a presser gassed up Anthony Tyus III and dying to see him on the field.  I mean 3 is all that needed right, and Dan loves etienne. He's one year filling in his body. If brooks is back, toss in chubba, thats 3.

      After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...

      My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
