Remember the ol' Cam Newton/Marcell Dareus debates back in 2011?

That thread Had Trucatz, TRD and Grits in it. Good times.

i remember arguing with all those turds

TRD had a knack for implying ridiculous poo but framing it up in a way that left him enough room to backpedal out of it.  like he'd post something that was just dripping with subtext and everyone knew what he really meant (matt moore > cam, etc.) but he'd go "whaaat?!?  me?  i didn't say that" when actually called on it.

Its a shame that all those people felt the need to leave just because they were wrong.

Well, maybe its because not only were they wrong, they were embarrasingly wrong, lol.

I remember thinking that taking Cam (or any other qb) with the first pick was a high risk high reward option.  I am glad the front office took the risk.  Probably the best thing Hurney did for the Panthers.

This was my concern.  As someone with a numbers background, the odds of a DT being at least decent was better than taking a QB with very very little passing experience.  Missing on a first rounder was not good and further, missing on the number one pick in the draft has set teams back for years sometimes.

Probably good Hurney was not an accountant

That's exactly what I did, btw.  At that point, I was a man with no NFL team because I had given up on my previous team (and its disgusting owner and its disgusting QB and its disgusting coach) in 2007.  So when Cam declared for the 2011 draft, I started lurking the boards of the teams that would potentially draft him, found a great group of fans, and found my new team and joined.

The silly child to whom you were responding hurts my feelings cuz he's a "real fan" and I'm not.  Here's me crying about it: wah.

Should go back to your old team and not be such a chicken poo quitter if you ask me
