Ryan Kalil thinks refs should be full-time

I like Kalil. I mentioned before he's good for speaking up in defense of Cam.

To the question, yes they need to be full time. They also need more training. Sometimes I think my child can ref a game in this league. But this all comes from the top. Consistency is so important. You can't let the hits to Cam get by but every time Brady falls down, it's a RTP call.

Did I ever tell you about the time Kalil took me out to go get a drink with him? We go off looking for a bar and we can’t find one. Finally, Kalil takes me into a vacant lot and says, ‘Here we are.’ Well, we sat there for a year and a half. Sure enough, someone constructed a bar around us. Well, the day they opened it, we ordered a shot, drank it, and then burnt the place to the ground. Kalil yelled over the roar of the flames, ‘Always leave things the way you found them!'

Everyone but the NFL, mostly because they dont want to pay them hell they dont want to pay them now.

NFL refs make on average about $180,000 a year for their part time gig.  Yeah, NFL refs probably don't want to be full time because that is SWEET part time money.

NFL is most definitely paying those guys.

Make it full time and maybe you lose some of these current dudes who have it made.  But you build a better group of refs going forward.

    • I had everything saved on an old email address and my computer crashed and could not be revived.  I tried reviving it, then stumbled on one I was going to create several years ago...So I am using it instead.  My fault--did not keep the email and forgot password--
    • Rasheed Walker for Kris Jenkins Jr.is what i am actually referring to in that particular post  all those #'s you are referring to are athletic #'s & Monroe Freeling had or has an impressive combination of size & raw athletiscm & it has nothing do with his size or athelticsm that is preventing him from being a day 1 starter in the NFL technique is where he struggled at the NFL combine & not only scouts but analysts alike also viewed him as more of a developmental type of player rather than a day 1 starter  go take a look at Will Campbell transition from the SEC to the NFL another first round LT that was drafted #4 overall by the New England Patriot,s.Will Campbell was a three year starter at  LSU & was thought to be one of if not the very best LT's in the SEC  & compare his SEC carrer to his rookie season in the NFL? just because you played good in the SEC at LT does nescarrily mean you are ready to start at LT in the NFL day 1 & or your rookie season  & one last thing i think you are jumping to conclusion & somehow assuming that i do not like Monroe Freeling ?which could not be further from the truth .what i do not like is the idea starting a player who is not ready ...just saying
    • I'd 10x rather play the NFC North than NFC West.
