We were out coached, not out played

Listen to all of you going panic mode!  shula is the problem.  Now, we were beat by the fulcunt and that is bad.  However, we don't have to hit the panic button.  I believe in Ron straightening out shula.  I'll panic when we hit 6 losses, unless there is a good excuse.  In the Panthers I trust.

Shula has a problem but comeon dude, we gave up drives of 99, 98, and 92 yards, had Ryan throw for half a thousand yards and gave up 300 to Julio, and you want to call out Shula?

We have ZERO pass rush. and when you have no pass rush, you are not going to get off the field, and you aren't going to be in the game.

The lack of our pass rush/our terrible secondary play made the Falcons dictate the game from start to finish. We weren't allowed to run the ball, and thats bad news for an offense/QB that has no urgency or hurry up offense.

hmmm no...

We simply don't have the talent. That starts from the very top. Go back and look at Gettleman's 4 drafts and put the homer in you aside, they're not pretty.

This whole notion that we're set up for the long haul is silly. Thinking long term on O we have Cam, KB and Trai that's about it!

On D (something the fat man loves and dumps a ton of resources into) we have Luke and KK (if they pay him) THATS IT! You could argue Shaq but he's nothing more than a run stopping LB'er.

The jury is still out on Butler and Bradberry of course but the future isn't exactly bright. It's been 4 damn years, it's time to realize where your damn strengths are (AT QB) and start building AROUND that strength! It's not rocket science. Stop reaching for players like Ealy over Allen Robinson. Stop wasting draft picks on guys like David Mayo and Zack Sanchez' of the world. Start building around Cam!

We where Gettlebaited for throwing the whole defense off due to Norman's release. Oh yeah and avoiding to slove the OL issue for several years imagine if we had drafted one in 2014 he could have been ready for a moment like this or hell could have drafted TE to help the OTs out but his ego came in the way.

No, we were not out coached. We actually fought a good fight but the secondary does not have the talent to play good receivers. Julio hung 300 on them. This is DG's fault plain and simple. He didn't give the coaches great talent. They may be good or can make good plays but they're not solid. You also can't put this on Cam. He's only protected so much. This is Dg's fault.

It's funny how DA comes in and they call the right plays, obviously because he can't run the read option like Cam. The play calling is the problem. We have two of the biggest receivers in the league. Stop trying to play action every play and just let them man throw the ball. It's literally the same play calling every single game. It's sad.

Cam didn't surrender 500 passing yards and 300 to one player though. He was a little off but with better protection and an NFL-caliber secondary, we might win this game. Instead we have a CFL defense and offensive tackles who should be coaching high school

No he didnt. But our offense couldn't do jack poo. You can't expect the defense to win every damn game. For more than 3 quarters our D outscored our offense. If that's not a fugging problem I don't know what is.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
