Carolina's problems/fixes. Rest of year prediction

So obviously Carolina has played terrible to start the season. Bad defense, bad offense, bad coaching/gameplanning. The biggest issues Carolina has is their secondary and offensive tackles. Yes Shula is a brutal OC but at the same time the QB needs time to throw the ball. The Falcons didn't blitz a lot and they got plenty of pressure against Cam/DA.

Offensive Line-Brutal, already talked about and their issues are noticed by many.

Defensive Ends-Brutal as well. Not much pressure from the edge, when we have gotten pressure it has been the middle or an unblocked DE getting to the QB. Johnson and Ealy both have not recorded a sack yet.

Secondary-Young and unexperianced is the blame overall. The secondary is extremely talented. But the miscommunication and the little mistakes have killed us so far. Thankfully for the secondary Julio is the best reciever we play all year. The bad news though is Fitzgerald, Jackson, Baldwin, Cooper, and Mike Evans x2 are left. As well as another game with Julio. The secondary needs to figure out something quick

Cam-What? Yes Cam has been below expectations so far if you ask me. Way below them actually. Week 1 you can't really blame him. He got us into a position to win the game. Week 2 he played the Niners......Everyone is good against them. Week 3 he sucked. Yes sacked 8 times but some of them is him missing recivers in his reads causing him to hold it longer then he should. He also missed a few open passes that an MVP calber QB needs to make. Week 4 was one of if not his worst game as a QB in his career. Missed reads in the pass and run. Getting himself injured by being a damn idiot. And being the Cam we saw in his rookie year, not leading, not getting the boys motivated, being slouched on the sidelines and not caring all at much. Maybe this concussion will wake him tf up.

Running attack-God we have none. Cam is pretty much our best rusher even when Stewart is healthy. That is a YUGE (Trump reference) problem. When your QB is the best rusher on the team that means the RB's suck. And they do, even Stewart has been below average this year in 1 1/2 games. Tolbert blows and needs to go away. CAP is inexperianced and you can tell. Fozzy is meh, makes plays but inconsitantly.

Recievers-Can't get open all that often. KB is gonna let Xavier Rhodes and Desmond Trufant lock him down 2 games in a row? Only Scrubs get locked down by those 2 CB's. Last time I checked KB is not supposed to be a scrub. Funchess has a good play every now and then but replaces that with 2 or 3 bad plays. Olsen is getting a lot of attention obviously. Can't put much blame on him. Ginn sucks, he has been bad almost the entire year. Brown is our best reciever by far. The only guy put there playing with energy or trying to get open.

Coaching-Awful game planning and awful play calling. Fire Shula, tell Rivera if he doesn't get his head out of his ass that he is gone too. McDermott has a gameplan but a young secondary who doesn't communicate. This is crap that you fix in the preseason, not 4 weeks into the season at 1-3.

Fans-The fans at the 2 home games have been awful. As a High Schooler who doesn't have a part time job yet. I don't have money to go to the games. The fans need to be loud, and not be fat and get 20 items at the concessions at halftime. Watching the game at the third quarter and seeing our seats be less then half full is embarassing. No excuses people at the games. Be loud, be proud, and don't miss a play. (Not really an issue with us losing but more frustration at our fair weather fanbase.)

Solutions? Simple.

1:Shula needs to let Cam throw it round the lot. Brady throws it 50 times a game. Let Cam throw quick routes to open up the run game and the deep ball. Also stop trying to run Cam 8-10 times a game. Let Cam get carries by him escaping the pocket with his athleticism.

2:Trade for Joe Thomas, if this team is serious about winning and winning now. We need a new LT, move Oher to RT and cut Remmers. There ya go, problem solved.

3:Sign Derek Forsett. He is a workhorse and can split carries with Stewart when he gets back.

4:Work on communication and signals in the backend on defense all week this week. My HS team that I'm a part of uses hand signals to tell the secondary what coverage they are in. Luke and Coleman has got to lead the defense and get them set in the correct coverage. That is their responsability

5:Work on release and route running with the recievers for a couple weeks. Tell KB to use his 6'5 frame and get that 5'10, 5'11 corner off his ass. Play physical with em'. Same with Funchess, tell ginn to blow by the guy if he is 1-2 yards off him in press. This will open up Olsen and will let Carolina throw the ball quickly.

6:Tell Cam to be a leader and to get his head outta his ass. If he does that we should be back to our form from last year.

Rivera is a great coach and I think we will get back on track.

This. Is. Incredible. I'm assuming you're the backup JV special teams coach when the first backup isn't available. Your "simple" solutions basically amount to revamping the entire offense and largely changing the defense. Also, who the fug is Derek Forsett? I know a Justin Forsett. I do like the dose of optimism at the end.

I agree with a lot of what you said until you get to this part.  We could EASILY drop 1/2 of those games.  Easily.

I hope you're right but I'm not feeling it.

My offensive fix is to focus more on Greg Olsen.  Less Greg Olsen blocking, much more Greg Olsen running routes.   Greg opens everything.  The focus on Greg is what opened up our passing game last year.  The focus on KB is what is stagnating our passing game this year.

Anyone still waiting for what the fix is for the fans being fat and getting 20 things in line at halftime? I'm looking for a workout plan or something that can be done during time outs. You know something creative. Maybe a routine at half time?

honestly ive been pretty discouraged thinking about this season the last couple days but the more i look at our remaining schedule the more excited i get. IF and thats a big IF, we get our ish together there easily 10 winnable games left on our schedule. only one that scares me is at seattle in primetime, but we still match up well with them

    • Unfortunately NHL contracts can’t be reconstructed so if they are with us they’ll be making what they make.
    • I know but both make too much for what they bring at this point in their careers.    I have more thoughts on the team as currently constructed.   but hey if everyone wants to run back the same coach and mostly the same players for a great regular season followed by more postseason failures, then by all means run it back.
