The guy who hasnt been here for 3 season catching 3 passes in a season  (4 in a career ) has nothing to do with our season and doesn't make it worse. Though I won't be surprised at this thread having multiple pages of sad commentary.

I remember at one point people were crowning him with amazing potential on here. I did like the guy. But it's funny to reflect on those days. Praying Gettis or King or ANYBODY could become a legit WR.

We're still waiting

He's no big deal, but the reason anyone cares is because he looks like a real WR. We play two guys who look like and run routes like a TE and have a burner that can only run flys and posts. I have wanted a true speed or slot reciever with skill for years.

Well it'll all turn out okay when Seattle beats Atlanta and then loses to the Packers who make the "Boys" go one and done, and the Chiefs beat the Pats. 50 years later rematch of SB I.

The Chiefs won't get by the Steelers.  The rest is absolutely possible.  Steelers are too stacked though.

Definitely playing well.  Looks like an ideal option from the slot.

Of course, for us to have recognized that, Ron would have had to break away from his veteran-fetish.

lolololol... I made a funny!

He has 3 receptions including this all season. 2 on 4 targets during the season. That isnt good.

We'll see. Chiefs are the most well rounded team in the league by far, with top 10 offense and defense. Very efficient on both sides and against the Steelers below average D will likely be able to control the clock and keep the ball away from the Steelers' big 3. Need to win the turnover battle as always, but they've done that all year and with Ben's aggressiveness will likely be able to capitalize on some of his riskier throws.

You mean to tell me we aren't putting the best players on the field?

Just now, Mr. Scot said:

Said it in the game thread...

The Giants spent a ridiculous amount of money in free agency this offseason going for a Super Bowl run.

This is what it got them.

I've been told they were making the Superbowl and that spending the most in free agency guaranteed a SuperBowl win.

Are you telling me that's not how football works?

    • You are right--it was DC.  I remember talking to him at Belk in Albemarle one day--the Panthers were on a bye and they were (at the time) a disapointing 4-4.  I mentioned that the record was disappointing and he seemed to get a bit annoyed.  He dId not say anything.  I trying to suggest that we will get better, but I think he was pretty upset about it.  No hard feelings, but the man was simply trying to shop with his wife and this annoying jerk starts making comments about his job---I get it.  I apologized, telling him that I was trying to be supportive and not critical--he did not think it was a big deal.  I'd see him at events from time to time-he'd wave or say hi, but it was awkward for me.  Figured I would say something stupid.  Jordan was pretty popular--nothing like she seems to be now--she is holding her own in a man's world...proud of her.
    • Like we have had the last 3 years.
    • In May of 2026, it looks like a challenging schedule...and it probably is.  I rarely listen to the "strength of schedule" conversations that light up social media this time of year. Each year teams improve and decline. I think there's chunks of the year we need to take care of business and the week 5 bye is not desired.  I do think if we don't hit the bye week at 3-1, it's going to be a major uphill battle given the schedule in front of us. This season falls on three people, regardless of schedule strength: Canales, Bryce, Evero.  Canales: Finally can truly coach all aspects of the team and not focus with gameday prep for OC duties anymore. He drives the bus and needs to get these guys in position to win each week. There's no way vets come in and put it on the line every week to watch our QB sh!t the bed (See: SF game last year). Bryce: Despite everyone's obsession with thinking Bryce is a guaranteed extension, I think this year will truly be his "prove it" year. If he comes out the way he has the past three years, I really don't see how vets and coaches can continue to put him under center long-term. He might play out that fifth year as the starter, but I think next offseason his long-term replacement is found. I also think there's no excuses with the weapons and commitment we've made on offense to insulate him with every possible weapon.  Evero: Best personnel he's had since he's been here...no excuses. Figure out how to blitz effectively. Figure out how to use CBs whose strengths are press/man. Figure out how to utilize a talented front-7 to get the hell of the field. Outside of FS and maybe....maybe ILB, there are few weaknesses on this unit.
