Are you comfortable with the roster?

Yea we've done a terribly wondrous job of not stacking our offense with talent to help him in general.

Na the lack of separation isn't a coaching issue and neither is KB pushing people in the back on would be TDs or huge first downs as well as the drops from all of them.

If you attend the games in person we lack speed and it's really really obvious from up there much more so than the TV...it's just easier to see. You can run perfect routes and if you are slow shits the corner will be on you anyway. Also they get open and drop the damn thing on how many of those? Poor Cam could have at least 5 more passing TD's just off my head and 400 yards more to his stats.

BUT
I like the Cotchery move and IMO I think that alone will do more than the main WR coach. I think our WRs will improve but that's not a knock on RP as i'd say the same thing if he was here too.

Agree as to the need for speed. Gettleman may overvalue size over athleticism and speed.

But drops and lapses in concentration are definite coaching points. Not being in the industry, it's hard to evaluate the job Ricky did. I just found it odd that most assumed he was a great coach when there doesn't seem to be anything to necessarily support that.

You weren't excited about 2015, especially before Benjamin's injury?

That was a damn good looking squad with only real holes at a good starter opposite of CJ at DE and Remmers still playing RT?

Tillman is still my favorite 1 year band aid Gman has done so far.

2015 WR corps was scary in a bad way because outside of KB, we had a rookie WR / TE convert and Ted Ginn just camr back from AZ posting 14 catches for 190 yards. Old man Jericho hadn't had a great year but was servicable. Looking back at it, that WR roster was scary bad.

Charles Johnson and Russell Shepards speed along with their hands make me feel happy for Cam. It's not the best by any means but ive had enough of the slow towers featuring Ted Ginn.

Defense is looking good but a little older now :) but ok. Still need a RB to replace Stewie ( would love Fournette but seem him going past 4) and a reliable receiver (but none are #8). Benjamin is too lazy and I think Funchess will surpass KB this year.. So 8 Is BPA but right now so hard to say who will be there.. Probably will be a defensive end(Charlton) and maybe we get crazy if so I say we trade back into the first to grab Howard for a TE..but I think we grab a RB and Wr in the 2nd with the Elay trade

And this is near sighted to me because the potential from that group wasn't a lot plus the Wide receiver coach who was supposed to put us over the hump retired and we replaced him with a unknown guy.  We also let the most consistent receiver go in FA from last year, and you had players and analysis guys calling out our group for not being very skilled/fundamentally sound all last season, the guy on  twitter pointing how we have one of the worst groups in league after evaluation with the droppedal passes. With all that I don't understand where the optimism is coming from. Seems like nothing more than blind faith they will get better because there is nothing the team has done so far for us to think other wise.

I have so many reasons and inclinations mapped out in my head that as to why I predict and think the way I think that I could write a ten page essay. I don't have the time nor energy to do so, so I just share my gut feeling, or in other words my hypothesis with the huddle. I can see how it can come off as blind faith but I truly have many reasons and thoughts as to why..

No one thinks Silo will make the final 53? He was signed just recently, knows our system, and probably plugs right back in at backup LG behind Norwell. He's decent as a backup, just not a true starter in my opinion.

Btw, Blechen is listed on our site as a Safety. Take that for what it's worth: http://www.panthers.com/team/roster/Brian-Blechen/cde6ec1b-47d3-4c7e-bd68-16a2ac910b54.

I think our third MLB is going to be Norris, who I felt did a really, really good job in preseason last year, and one of the reasons (albeit most likely a pretty small reason) as to why we let Klein walk, with Mayo playing well, and that kid in the wings. We could afford to not overpay for AJ.

It's been awhile but I'm pretty sure his glamorous review came from Smitty himself so people tend to take our best WR's word for it. Then you'd have to look at the actual talent(or lack of) that we've given him to work with.

Then Ginn comes here to do the best ever - no credit there for Proehl?
UDFA Brown even contributes at all - no credit there for Proehl?
KB good rookie year - no credit there for Prohel?

There's not much evidence because there's not much WR talent at all, nor has there been any consorted effort to provide the offense with such weapons either.

I would ask someone which WR coach in the league would get more out of Ginn, Brown, Bersin, Funchess. It really is a complete poo stain of a WR core.

Expecting us to make it to another Super Bowl with a WR unit like that is basically borderline fantasy. Especially considering it was the weakness of that unit paired with an overmatched offensive line that lost us that Super Bowl. We won many razor thin close games in 2015 by sheer luck, you cannot simply expect to catch lightning in a bottle like that twice. Sure it's possible, but roster wise we must do everything we can to control what we can.

Your right but we already experienced the low of that kind of football and the luck going the other way last year. I don't think it's a WR problem it's a team problem. It doesn't matter what WR or TE or RB you put in our system. This whole thing falls onto the coaching staff to "evolve" this offence and take a step in changing it. If that doesn't change no player addition will either.
