He could back up both sides. I don't want him to kill himself to make me happy though. I will be fine with whatever he does.

IF he's healthy (that's a big if), he likely starts at RT. He played pretty damned good in 2015. If he's not 100%, but still serviceable, I think you're right. He drops to back up Kalil at LT, so that Moton isn't forced to immediately learn both positions. No matter how smart Moton seems to be, he's still a small school player who's never lined up on the left side of the line. The coaches don't appear to trust Williams on the left.

If he's doing this to get as much money as possible, then I don't blame him. Seem like his head issues will last as long as Oher remains on this earth. Seems very expensive. Panthers need to cut the check..

That's how I see it.

Make the best effort possible to get the best injury settlement you can get.

Can't say as I blame him.

Oher was the LT in 2015 and he was damn good. Honestly, if he's healthy, then he should compete for the starting job there.

Did anyone really expect him not to show up? And, like it or not, it's still kinda newsworthy, so...

Now it's just a question of whether or not it's mostly a legal/money issue with Oher, or whether he really does desire to play (which he may). As far as I'm concerned, It's no big deal either way. I think it's just practical from a business and human standpoint for both sides to let this play out.

In a perfect world, Oher gets clearance and competes for a tackle spot. The team has nothing to lose but more money if they handle this insensitively.

Oher has access to solid financial advisors, experienced doctors and legal representation. If he shows up at training camp, it is because it is the best move for him across the board. The Panthers organization has solid financial advisors, experienced physicians to consult, legal representation and coaches who can evaluate a player's abilities.

If Oher plays this year, it is because he is able to, willing to and needed by the team. If Oher doesn't play this year, it could be that things didn't work out one way or the other and this young man has had an incredibly interesting life arc for the first 32 years of his life. He will do well financially, has good people behind him and I hope and pray that he will have continued good health for the rest of his days.

yeah and they are looking to get paid. The man is done and its time to move on. But hey, ima layman. money over health is running this dialogue, and that's a shame.

Yeah, I really can't argue with you there. Money is the main motivator in this and either Oher is at the end of his career or they/he have greatly overstated his injury.

    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
    • Didnt Canales already say starters are playing in the pre season? either way extra reps dont hurt but im not one of those people that think playing in the pre season would have saved Bryce from an awful start.
