Correct me if I'm wrong, but when Hurney was initially fired he didn't garner any interest at all from other teams around the league, right? IIRC that was a pretty damning assessment of his GM'ing skills.

Correct.

He won't stay. I think he will only be used by JR to secure his "favorites" and then replaced next season, guaranteeing JR gets to retain his special players in his 'family-ring'.

We all know why JR let go Hurn Dawg the first time.

Will not be surprised if the next GM will be very similar to DG in style.

I don't think anyone on the Huddle can say for sure if he did or didn't get inquires from from other teams. It wouldn't surprise me if he didn't but I do know he has stated to anyone that asked that he had zero interest in getting back into NFL operations after he left here.

That's why he's here......JR loves the ones no one else wants. lol

He's in the running believing otherwise is naive.

Jerry never wanted to fire Hurney, now he has invented a perfect excuse to take him back and will probably run a successful team he largely had nothing to do with.

I won't be comfortable with this until the ink dries on a new GM.

And god forbid we do keep Hurney as our permanent GM...

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
