When he finally does "undermine someone", can you imagine the nationwide shock and the media witch-trial that will follow though?

Yes, I agree with you 100%.  But we also can't pretend that Cam is allowed to work under the same "leadership" rules as, say, Peyton Manning or Tom Brady in today's  "what poo can we throw at the wall to get as many clicks as possible" NFL (and I include them specifically because of the NFL Network) and NFL media.

I mean doing it in-house. Not to the media

Doubt there'll be much media surrounding that, like seriously get over it.

Also comparing him to the GOAT with multiple rings and the GOAT stat wise is really embarrassing us as a fanbase, please stop.

As to the topic on hand, I'm perfectly OK with this and agree with Cam. However, Stew does not play full seasons and he is a bruiser who gets the tough yards. He is also aging as that kind of RB. If we pick up a nice replacement soon, great but I worry this coaching staff will be tempted put Cam in those tough yard situations if Stew is unable for any of those reasons and they really need to get away from, or as they say evolve away from that for the sake of the team and Cam. We will need a Stew replacement very soon.

She's falling in line with what is the Observer standard. She was on the radio this morning praising Olsen for being a professional for showing up and not wanting to be a distraction. That isn't reporting, that is shilling.

I heard it and thought she was a bit over the top but no since being critical or taking a hard line at this point.  Its all fluff right now.

It would be an absolute sh*t show if Cam did anything that resembled what Brady and Manning do to some of their teammates.

You can argue they've "earned" the right but even if Cam had a ring it still wouldn't change how the media would interpret it.

Among so much great insight about Cam, do not overlook this:

“Perception and reality, we want to make sure we know what reality is,” Shula says. “We’re going to look at maximizing our personnel, all of them, no matter who’s here when they’re in the game. Finding guys who can best make plays for us and finding ways to get them to ball.”

---

“When people say, ‘They caught up with the Panthers’ offense,’ well, we weren’t as good, so how are you going to argue that?” Shula says. “What we have to look at is, offensively they can’t take everything away. When they take this away, you have to be ready for that.”

THIS, people! This is the heart of the evolution on offense. This is what I mean when I talk about Rivera and Shula having a change of mind. This is why I said yesterday that the evolution is 50 percent Rivera.

The offensive evolution is not going to happen without picking the personnel that deserve to be there---that better fit what you're trying to do---whether they are veterans or not. This seems especially true for the receivers as they will be the spearheads that open up everything for everyone else. Adapting to, and countering what the defensive opposition is doing is paramount if we are to be successful.

I have said so many times that Gettleman, Rivera, Cam and Shula would have to up their games. Gettleman was well on his way to doing that if the draft is any indication. Hurney is seemingly on board.and poised to improve upon past mistakes. Rivera and Shula are in harmony saying the right things. Let's hope that it's more than rhetoric. If they are serious, and Cam has embraced the fact that he must add to his repertoire, appreciate and "take the layups," and allow his new shiny toys to work for him and thrive, then the Panthers can be something special this year.

Disagree. She's very good at her job as a writer and finding stuff people actually want to hear.

    • Brother I hate to tell you but that's a terrible draft. You hit at 51 but the rest is...not good.
    • If you check next year there's 50 mill in cap space, * without this years draft class or next. 5+ should allow this year given its top 51. Next it jumps and you need another 5-10 mill for 27 draft class. Most team like to carry 10 into each season for injuries. It goes fast....... I feel it pains as a "hater" *but* if my fav Panthers team decides BY is thee guy......(just how...)... I feel they should offer that malik Willis contract as the goal and base for a contract.  I believe they feel strong enough to sign these top FA, they are going for it right now........ So that hurts my idea of drafting a starting QB in 27 or even 26....Its hard to reset "going all-in" with a rookie QB learning the NFL game. Hell who knows what QB will be cut after this year too, no one thought Tua or Murray was getting cut before this past season, NO ONE. Watson could be a FA at any point this or next.  Honestly wildcard in this mofo is using the 19th on TY simp, let him learn at his own pace and flip BY for a mid pick or just ride him for the whole 5th year. Now you have a low cap hit young QB that's been learning for 2 years and you got him for the next 3 if he's the guy.....why not!?!?!!?
    • Mike Kaye replying to above post: ”If he plays well next year, they will almost certainly restructure to open up cap and push down the cap number. His contract becomes guaranteed for Year 3 early in Year 2 unless he essentially bombs. I think 3 years, $90 million is the deal, which will almost certainly be reworked if successful. If it doesn’t, pretty notable gamble (let’s not kid glove this).  As with any deal there is nuance.” https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/2033246139026174146?s=46
