Pay Attention to Post Game PC

I am very interested to see if this dumpster fire of media members will actually press Rivera and ask the tough necessary questions today after the game. Who will be the first moron to ask about why Cam didn't speak during the week before they ask how they could come out so flat while having 10 days off in between games? When you tune into WFNZ tomorrow, make sure you pay attention to how many times Ron and Shula get criticized compared to Cam. What is the point of our media? What purpose do they honestly serve? Remember when Voth guaranteed he wouldn't change even though he was being employed by the Panthers? How many times has Voth criticized Ron or Shula? The answer is 0, but has no problem pointing out every Cam high throw.

The Panthers came into this week off a "mini bye" against an inferior team. The results are nothing short of pathetic. How many times over the years have we seen a Ron Rivera team come off a bye or extra time off and completely lay an egg? How are they unprepared against a team of this caliber? The media's job is to be the middle man between the team and the fans. Their job is to report on what is happening and not giving certain people free passes while constantly crucifying others. They are suppose to have integrity and be fair. Please, someone point out one time where there has been a critical piece on Ron Rivera. Please find me one presser quote where someone actually challenged Rivera on Mike Shula and coaching issues.

I hope everyone keeps this in mind in the future when Cam blows of the media or gives them an attitude (not referring to the Jourdan situation, that is a whole different issue). We have had the misfortune of having to rely on people like Joe Person and David Newton for accountability. When times are tough we get articles on Cam's nicknames for all his teammates from Jourdan over something of actual substance. How about just one of them going after Richardson for completely ignoring this fan base over the last decade pretty much. No, this is all too much to ask for.

I am extremely curious to see if anyone will press Ron on once again punting in a field goal situation. Why is Graham Gano on the roster if you can't use him for 50+ yard field goals? Why on 4th down is Cam being relied to convert a 4th and 2 on the same drive he was noticeably limping? Why was this team so unprepared after having 10 days to prepare? Unfortunately we will get the same BS that we get from them week after week. If they refuse to hold this franchise and coaching accountable, then nothing will ever change. They are suppose to be our voice and they have failed us all miserably over the years. I just wish the majority of fans would realize this and stop accepting status quo.

Just now, hepcat said:

Ron is going to make excuses about turnovers and missed chances and not take any shred of accountability

You are 100% correct, and then our media is just going to let it go and move on. They are going to bury his quotes at the end of some article that is flooded with their irrelevant thoughts.

It is there job to follow up on his BS and go after him. Write critical articles and hold him accountable for his mistakes.

Well said. Small market reporters with no one pushing for their job.

Ron is relying to heavily on his players with "veteran" status and not putting in the players or coaches that can make this team go.

Shula thinks an "evolved" offense means a bunch of window dressing and whack screens.

    • The Seahawks won an emotional, divisional, overtime rivalry game vs the Rams on a Thursday night (Dec 18).  That gives them 10 days to prepare for the Panthers, but the Christmas holiday fell a week later--I bet they were afforded an extra day for travel-many coming back east.  Following the Panthers, Seattle plays at San Francisco for the division title (in all probability).   The Rams finish the season with games against the Falcons and Cardinals, two likely wins, pushing them to 13-4.  The Niners finish the season with home games against the Bears and Seahawks. Seattle finishes the season with the Panthers on the road and SF in California.   It is easy to see how preparing for the Panthers, during the holiday break and with the Niners waiting for them in SF a week later for (what could be) the NFC West title and #1 Seed in the NFC, could create the perfect trap game scenario.  The Panthers at home are 5-2.   In the past 2 weeks, the Seahawks struggled to beat the Phillip Rivers Colts in Seattle and then pulled off a miraculous, emotional victory at home vs. the Rams.  I am not convinced that they are as good as advertised. Seattle is a TD favorite in Charlotte.  I feel that Carolina by 3 may be more accurate.  While I am still not confident in this team's consistency and it never seems to dominate, it sure feels like a trap game for Seattle to me.  How could they NOT be thinking of San Francisco right now?  They are not used to being in this position (current players) and it is human nature.  Carolina 27, Seattle 24.
    • It is a tough decision.  There is another factor.  Is he in game shape?  A tired Hunt is not better than an "in-shape" Corbett.  When coming off an injury, it is natural to want to protect the injured area, even if it is completely healed.  This can cause you to contort your body for no reason, lose fundamentals, and it could lead to other injuries.  For example, I had a knee in high school that required getting taped.  That made me aware of the knee (not used to tape on my knee) and I pulled my groin (favoring or dragging the leg with the tape).  The trainer explained the groin injury the way I do here--but scared money makes no money.  If he is cleared to play, he is cleared to play.  Watch him, rotate him in for a series, etc.  Specifically, I would want to watch the matchup--who is winning more--Corbett or Hunt?  How is the defense reacting (if at all) to Hunt being in?  Etc.
    • Shannon was sued for $50 million (settled out of court, I believe) for forcing sex on his girlfriend during a two-year relationship.  He denies it, but ESPN let him go last April.  Chad Johnson's wife filed a police report because he head-butted her in a car and was put on probation. I had to google it.  I watched the Ray Rice video and when you see it, you realize just how vile and cowardly abusing a woman really is.  But for the same point Aussie tried to make, these women are defenseless, and being phyiscally bigger and stronger does not validate your actions.   I can't even stand to watch Steve Smith.  I can't normalize this kind of behavior--again, I do not think R-P had that in mind when he posted this.  When the reason was exposed, we should realize that we are talking life (quality of) and death (in some cases) here.
