Neutral Zone Infraction

The Panthers offense came out after halftime trailing the Saints 14 - 21. On 3rd down and 4* I believe it was, the Defense jumped into the Neutral zone, causing a reaction from the Panthers Offensive line, but there was no call. That is the very definition of a Neutral Zone Infraction. Then, THE EXACT same thing happened for the Panthers defense; almost on the same part of the field as well. Yet, the refs instantly threw multiple flags and awarded the Saints 5 yards and a replay of down. One of the worst missed calls that I have ever seen. Literally a mirror image if you watch both plays, but one is called, one is not. Granted, we wouldn't have won the game on this call because we played very Poorly in all phases of the game today, but it killed our opening drive and gave the Saints even more momentum coming out of half time. Can anybody find the .gif's of these 2 plays and post them here? Because I lost all composure after that one.

This is the one play that ultimately defined the whole game.  That non call was huge.  If we'd have scored anything the playcalling on both sides of the ball for both teams would have been different.  We're not built to come from behind 2 scores so it ultimately affected us more.

It was a huge momentum shift as well.  I could almost feel the entire panthers team lose their breath as they looked on in despair at a referee team clearly playing as a member of the Saints.  The ensuing sack was predictable as the OLine sat confused over what had just occurred.

It was terrible officiating all game. Honestly Clay should have had a PF along with two saints. They were absolutely terrible but it's why the game was flexed. It put our team out of there time zone and a uphill battle. It still proves we are not winning anything without help and that's not a super bowl team.

We played bad offense, couldnt run much and muffed a punt and punt return. Add to that the stupid penatlies (yeah you Peppers) and we have only ourselves to blame. Self inflicted stuff today. That and the fact the we flat out could not stop Kamara.

The most notable was a non-call.

Down 21-14 at the half, Carolina opened the third quarter with the ball and a third-and-2 from its 27-yard line. That’s when Saints defensive end Trey Hendrickson jumped toward right tackle Daryl Williamsicon-article-link.gif, who immediately looked to an official while pointing at Hendrickson. But no flags flew, and seconds later, former Panthers linebacker A.J. Klein came through unblocked for a 13-yard sack of quarterback Cam Newtonicon-article-link.gif

“The ball didn’t get snapped but it created a false start by the right tackle, so it’s really a neutral zone infraction,” said former official and FOX rules analyst Mike Pereira on the broadcast. “The play should have been shut down and there should not have been the big loss.”

But according to head coach Ron Rivera, the officials “didn’t see it.”

Now aren't there enough refs on field to see pretty much everything even if any are on sidelines watching. How does something like this even happen especially when Panthers are trying to get a flag thrown and A.J. Klein comes flying through and sacks Cam when there is confusion on the field and the play should have been killed right then and no loss of yardage would have taken place.

We’ll never know the outcome of the game, but the sack after wouldn’t have happened and we’d still be driving the ball while only down 7. Plus, they may not have necessarily scored a TD with that possession they got.

that string of events gave them great momentum and made it a very different game.

Sounds like when the refs screwed us over in Superbowl 50 by not calling the Cotchery catch an actual catch.

Next play voila strip sack.

Refs were absolutely atrocious. The late hit on pep when he was falling down was also equally stupid.  I know it's all behind closed doors BS, but IMO, fans wouldn't be so pissed the fug off with shitty refs if it were made known what actions were taken against them.  Also wouldn't mind seeing these blind dipshits that want tons of money to fug up games forced to do post-game media sessions.  Pretty sure that'd help keep them from fuging up so often if they knew they'd have to answer for their general buttfugery.

it was a blown call.  no excuses.

that said, our offensive lineman need to go watch film of Jordan Gross.   You don't allow the refs to miss that call.  Gross would over sell being forced to move by the defender if that ever occured. Difference between having a savy stud vet lineman vs the group we got now.  We got talent and some okay guys....but vets don't just point a finger after it occurs.
