You mean like Steve Smith and Julius Peppers? How about Thomas Davis? Cam Newton? There is one unsubstantiated rumor that JR said/did something uncouth to a minority. Maybe I'm out of the loop but I read the SI exposé. The race issue didnt sound nearly as credible as the sexual harassment allegations.

I'm all for letting the pervert have it for his treatment of women in the workplace and abusing his authority in that way but let's not act like the man was a racist. That's embarrassingly misleading at this point.

You mean like Cam Newton who he hired a white conservative to teach about race relations? Or the team who he banned from expressing their views on police brutality against black people?

Players are different anyways. Pollian was talking from an office employee's perspective, not a player's. The players made him all of his money and did all the work. He couldn't be as overtly hostile to them as he would have liked.

Something to think about...

If the new owners go with the "consultant" route (and I hope they do) one of the candidates to fill that role could actually be Bill Polian.

Ernie Accorsi, Ron Wolf or Joe Gibbs would be better choices in my opinion.

Also true that if they go that route you can probably predict who the GM will be by the consultant.

From Bill Polian's wikipedia page

Quote

In 2006, According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, Polian reportedly shoved a New York Jets employee by pinning him against a wall, for placing speakers too close to the field during warmups.[9] The league required Polian to issue a written apology to the Jets employee.[10]

Seems like Bill Polian may not be that easy to work with.  Also the owner he "worked so closely with" in Indianapolis was a heavy drug addict and kind of a dickhead.  I don't think I'll lose any rest over what this mouth breathing idiot has to say.

Polian reportedly threw a chair at an agent during a contentious negotiation as well (most likely when he was with the Bills).

The story was also told that on more than one occasion when Polian and Richardson were working together, Richardson saw Polian getting worked up over something and passed notes to him urging him to calm down.

So yeah, Polian was a tad... volatile.

That said, he's never been accused of asking someone to show him how they put their jeans on or if he could shave their legs. So there's that...

Dude got sued for not promoting black employees and for offering up segregated seating until the late 80s. Panthers fans need to get their head out of the sand. Go back and read what he said about Cam leading up the draft, it is dripping with antebellum racism.

Spot on , why do you think Jerry Jones wanted him to replace Goodell after the Trump comments.

Seems to be all that poster focuses on...   What a miserable way to live....

Polian built this team into an instant contender, and was offered a better job in Indianapolis.  When we didn't match, he left in a snit and has been throwing shade our way ever since.

Regardless of how you feel about JR, Polian is a jerk in his own right.  And he also is pretty good at building a team that will almost get you there, but not quite.

    • An odd little vibe I've noticed here of late: some folks are "all or nothing" to an absolutely extreme level when it comes to Bryce. There are, in fact, things Bryce does well. Likewise, there are areas in which he's improved over his time here. He has, on several occasions now, legitimately helped us win games. On the flipside, there have been failures in other areas as well as coaching that we're not in any way his fault.  And finally , it is also genuinely possible that the team may see him as the future, even if we don't. The craziest part, though? It's actually possible that they're right and we're wrong. All of this is true, and more, yet if you accept any of these premises people go from zero to apesh-t in under three seconds 😳 Anything less than total disavowal of Bryce and / or agreement that he's the worst QB of all time and suddenly you're a "stan". Oy 🙄 The reality though?  Bryce is indeed an NFL quarterback. Not a great one, probably backup level good, and I've seen way worse. Now, if you run that statement through your personal Google translator and it comes back with some version of "I want to throw 50 million a year at Bryce for the next 10 years", that's not really my issue it's yours  I don't wanna make him the franchise quarterback, but it's not my call. Win or lose, the team is going to do what they think is best. And as always, if it disagrees with what I think we should do, I'm gonna hope I'm the one who's wrong. Internet clout means nothing. Watching my favorite team win at my favorite sport meas fun 😁
    • I like Icky but he was the wrong tackle to take. Learning run blocking is much easier than learning pass blocking. Cross was pass pro ready. He was the tackle we should have taken without hesitation.
    • Never saw this angle of the Tyson fight either lol.
