Jack Del Rio disses a popular Bears linebeacker (not Rivera)

Lewis had the better overall career but at his peak I think Urlacher was the more complete LB.

Doesn’t matter which is better because ultimately Luke will go down as the GOAT, and he didn’t murder anyone or trash his ex after her husband died either.

Assuming Kuechly stays healthy he will be hands down the best MLB in the history of the NFL when all is said and done.

Ray Lewis had way more all-pro selections than Urlacher. In fact the most of any MLB in NFL history.

I do think most people would agree that Ray Lewis was better.

That slam on Urlacher though...does he have a point?

Ray Lewis has leadership intangibles urlacher never had. He willed that team to two Super Bowl wins.

Also what Del Rio said isn't really news, when I read the topic title I knew it was Urlacher without knowing about the tweet.

I'm sorry, but I don't think I could put Urlacher in the top 5 MLBs of all-time. He wasn't even the best one that played for the Bears.

You've got guys like Dick Butkus, Lawrence Taylor, Ray Lewis, Derrick Thomas, Ray Nitschkie (sp?), Kevin Greene, Junior Seau and Jack Ham out there that are way better, just as a quick look. Dig into the game a bit more and there's an even bigger list before you should drop Urlacher into the mix.

I always thought he got a lot of credit for jumping into piles or being the second guy in on a tackle. He also was nowhere near the defensive field-marshal like Singletary or own Luuuuuke. Heck, if Dan Morgan hadn't destroyed his brain through concussions he'd have ranked higher than Urlacher.

(Apologies if a couple of those guys didn't spend their entire careers at MLB.)
