Here's my thoughts,

# 1 LG, The biggest loss of talent this offseason has been Norwell. Sirls is likely the lead candidate to start at this point but I don't think the team wants to bank on that.

# 2 WR, Current top 5 are Funchess,Smith, Wright,Samuel and Byrd. Funchess is a free agent next year and  it would be nice to be pro-active in the event he gets overpaid elsewhere. Even if Funchess is retained long term, this is not a strong looking bunch for right now or the future. Would love to see a drafted player challenge Funchess for the # 1 spot.

# 3 # 2 RB, I could have easily listed any position in the secondary here. However it looks like we have sufficiently replaced the 2 departing players (Worley and Coleman) with Cockrell and Searcy. It's not going to be an all star cast but we arguably have one of the top front 7's sitting in front of them to help balance out their shortcomings.

With Stewart gone, theres a big opening for someone to carry the rock. He led the team with 198 attempts.  Cam actually had more carries than Mccafrey last year (139 vs 117).  Mccaffrey only averaged 3.4 ypc last year, so I don't believe giving him more carries is a good idea. CAP only carried it 18 times last year so I doubt he's thought of as the answer.

As of now..

FS

RB

TE

OL

Pretty much this...I like the signings today as they give more freedom in the draft...I think before we were almost bound to go S...CB early, now we could even go RB or TE early... and still address the secondary

I would move TE ahead of RB but yeah

We need both. BUT #2 RB will touch the ball more. A lot of the playoff teams use 2/3 backs. A #2 TE here won't have nearly the impact of a #2 RB. You could easily see 10+ carries a game from your back up RB. No way your back up TE get close to those touches, UNLESS Olsen gets hurt.

    • What I love and hate about this team is it’s more filled with potential breakout players than ever before. JT, XL, Coker, Smith-Wade, Ikem, Trevin… and even Bryce are all guys I could legitimately see taking the next step. But the problem with having so many of those guys is that team success somewhat relies on them taking that step, and some are bound not to. That being said, I’m cautiously optimistic given our softer schedule, the way the offense clicked late last year, and the direction we finally have at GM, coach, and QB. Could see us as a sneaky playoff team.

    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
