NASCAR driver Austin Dillon arrives with Panthers in tow for All-Star Race

Recommended Posts

There were quite a few really good players that were shown the door during the Gettleman reign, and a lot of them were pretty salty about it. DWill was great when he was here, he did well in Pittsburgh when they needed him. He got upset about the whole deal and after the loss of his Mom he had some stuff to say about the organization that may have been targeted at management but hit the whole fan base.

Up until then, he'd been the model Panther and had been a helluva running back. In truth, we could have used him the year we let him go and the year after that.

Gettlemagic pushed DWill out before it was time, just like he did with Smitty.

Oh yeah, NASCAR. Meh.

D-Will overstayed his welcome. He got fat and complacent after his contract extension and did next to nothing thereafter. He even commented on how he was in the best shape in years when he went to Pittsburgh because he actually had to be held accountable for his on the field performance again. Before that year, he had spent the previous 5 getting fat and sassy never even eclipsing 850 yards over that time span while being one of the highest paid RBs in the league.

Also it came out from a few people here and there that behind the scenes Williams was a bit of a prick and hard to like within the building so there wasn't much love lost when we let him go.

I think you're looking at his time here with rose colored glasses. Dude had 2 good years in 08 and 09, got paid, then never really did much else for us ever again.

    • Yeah, this was 100% on Bryce. For some reason he came out being checkdown king Sunday. Didn't really even look at deeper routes. Just checked it down as quickly as possible. He CAN NOT be a franchise QB playing this inconsistently. The confusion for me is that some games he looks at deeper routes and then some games he just ignores everything over 15 yards. I don't understand this dude anymore. Honestly thinking he's broken at this point. He WAS NOT like this at Alabama. They'll pick up his 5th year option, but there's no way he's extended. No way.
    • Well, career preservation is a real thing…
    • Reimer isn’t an option. He had his time here and wouldn’t be much better. Primeau wouldn’t be much better either. Our next goalie is going to come from another team it’s probably going to be a hefty price but it’s also going to be a really good goalie from a bad team.  Saros just makes too much sense. Heck, the back up for Dallas is a good goalie.
