This post is garbage , dude I would understand if  this was week 12 but really based of 10 mins of preseason film? Get this poo out of here.

Absolutely agree. I've said all offseason that we need to prepare for a lesser Greg Olsen this year, but to use Preseason Game 2 to prove that is ridiculous.

Here is what I  saw--

Olsen has lost a step or two--but he never gets up for pre-season games.   What I saw in  terms of blocking from our third and fourth TEs was impressive.  Thomas, by the way, may be the gem of the draft.  He will be a star.

The Corn interception was caused by Hall on an inside stunt.  Looked promising when I  watched  94.  I am hoping both players step up this year after injuries.

When Williams returns, we will have 2 Tackles.  Van Roten has shown us that he deserves the LG job.  Who saw that coming?  SIrles is the depth and Mahon to PS--probably.

The Moore turnover was not really his fault--it was the QB's fault.  If you throw that pass, he has to clear the first down marker so he can catch and duck; since he needed a few yards  and had not cleared the DB, he had to stay on his feet (3rd down, I think).  It would not have been a fumble had it hit the ground.  I question having a starting WR in the game at that point.

Defensively, Jackson has no business playing deep zone CB with a 10-yard cushion.  Not sure if they were doing that intentionally or not.

Hope Searcy was OK.  Not that he is that good, but Gaulden is that raw.

Poe and KK are dangerous together.  I caan't think of too many DTs better than either.  Butler is going to be an OK pro.  Love is really better than advertised, and a bargain.

I have been VERY impressed with the LB from MD--Carter. Norris has been a beast, and Mayo seems like he is all over the field.  Does playing with Luke and TD make that much of a difference?

That is about it---on defense, I am most excited about the glimpses of the future I saw at DE--Haynes, Hall, and Cox were solid.  On offense, I was impressed with our depth at TE and RB---and Samuel.  We have weapons.  Just need to get the OL to gel.

Concerns? Matty Kalil, Safety.

Rule #1 of the huddle.  Don’t say bad things about certain players or hell will be unleashed.

I fully expect Olsen one day to reach a Tony G in Atl level.  Basically, he makes plays with his brain and technique because he simply won’t have the raw physical ability to do what he once did.  And that is okay.

But you can watch a Olsen highlight reel where set NFL history putting in 3 consecutive seasons of 1000 yards....Olsen has never really looked pretty IMO.  I mean his running style mechanics have always looked kinda fugly and like he has to give it 110%.

Gano miss, I feel we played for the FG there on the 3rd down. Play for the FG and well…

See above statement.

Oh, and isn't Gano the 2nd highest paid kicker in the league?

until his 3 year 1k stretch, he was known for being a sure handed chain mover (I remember people bashing him for his lack of YAC a few years back), he can do that and still be a major help by clearing the middle of the field.  Jason witten for example hasn't had any explosiveness for the last 3 years, but is still a super important part of that dallas offense, and even if he's lost a step, Olsen can be that same thing for us.

So you’re agreeing, but disagreeing that’s what’s stupid.

    • NEVER FORGET!!!!   Canales was on no one's radar. Tepper couldn't get anyone to come here. He was all in on Ben Johnson. Nobody wants to work with Tepper, however Canales tenure may prove important for the next guy. This guy still has no idea what he's doing.
    • The 4th down play was poor execution by Chuba. He didn't want to get physical like Rico and cut North South to lean on his blocks from Tremble and Ekwonu for half a yard. Also, the 3rd down play before that Bryce audibled out to a QB run and almost got the 1st down was on Chuba for not knowing the play call leading to poor execution. You can see Chuba's confusion when Bryce had to realign him. Then Chuba thought he was getting the handoff and was slow to develop his double team on the DE with Tremble. Then Chuba hesitated on pushing the block and just ran to the sideline making Bryce have to loop around him. This pulled the DE away from Tremble forcing Chuba to chip on the DE late and leaving the safety as a free defender. Chuba was suppose to double down on the DE to let Tremble peel off to the safety. This allows Bryce to set up his run to the inside or outside after the safety commits. You can also see Tremble walk over to talk to Chuba after the play and Chuba shrugs which tells me he didn't know what to do. The audible would have worked on 3rd and the dive would have worked on 4th. The plays were good calls and drawn up well. The question is why was Chuba unprepared for those plays in two critical back to back plays? I like Chuba as a 1st down RB and passing downs, but I have always seen him lacking the power and vision to be a short yardage power back. Chuba didn't come prepared for the Saints game or he was thrown into a position at the 3 spot that he was never prepared for.
    • Yeah man, that was a catch. I like to imagine the game isn’t rigged but it’s well known sports betting is ruining the sport. Unfortunately, most coaches plan for 3 phases of the game. But there is really 4, offense, defense, special teams, and special occasions. on special occasions the refs can influence the game, leaving you in positions your actively planning to stay out of and how you respond in those special occasions make or break the game. Other times it’s other reasons. But I like to hope that the right team, or right player can extend past those types of setbacks and still find a way. anywho, probably a pipe dream. But it’s how I see it.
