that said, i would trade a 7th rounder for him. 7th round picks are meaningless.

That is sort of my thoughts. His contract is up after next season, so there is pretty minimal risk. I would be willing to take a small gamble on a guy that might be able to develop into a useable backup(and I realize this is a long shot) than two guys who have an established track record of not being NFL caliber players.

Now, this is not to say there are not better options available but it makes very little sense to trade for guys like Bridgewater or Brissett at the price most teams would want. At best, we could use a player who has at least a halfway decent shot at being able to play in the NFL.

Considering the state of our OL currently, I doubt we see much movement on a QB.

Lynch has to be a better option than anything we have currently

I don't know if that's guaranteed.

Having Norv Turner would certainly improve our chances, but I'm definitely not sold on Lynch.

Elway probably wouldn't give him up for anything less than a pretty stiff price anyway.

Oh I am not implying it is a guarantee he is better. I would just rather gamble on someone who is still young and might have some salvageable talent. I think it is pretty clear our current options don't have what it takes.

Considering his fall, I think it wouldn't be that hard to get Lynch away from Denver. I don't think Elway is very high on him anymore.

Elway may not be as high on him as it used to be, but that wouldn't stop him from setting a high asking price.

I am not sure if he was open to moving him that it would make sense to have an inflated value. I couldn't imagine him getting anything more than a 6th or 7th round pick and 6 seems pretty high. Plus there do seem to be some very good options as far as backup QB's to trade for if the price is high.

But, we will never know until or if it happens.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
