"Stacked at Wide Receiver"

Most have been saying how this is now our strength and I don't see it.  I like Fun and the attitude he brings, but I don't feel like he's a #1 WR, and the #2 or #3 yesterday couldn't get open either.  I also don't understand why DJ Moore didn't see many snaps yesterday.  This remains an area of concern and we're going to struggle offensively if somebody doesn't step up, especially after losing Olsen.

We couldn't get any deep passes.  I blame that on Dallas secondary and our oline.  Cam was taking what the defense would allow there was some errant throws and some penalties that called back some catches. But Dallas secondary is very good.

We are a wr corp by committee. Yes no true #1 but we have 2 or 3 no 2's and the rest 3.

I'm not to worried with the wrs they will get their catches when Cam has more time in the pocket.

Cam's deep ball looked a little off yesterday. He had Funchess once deep that would have been a TD had he hit him in stride.

Not sure why we didn't load one up to Smith for at minimum a PI call.

Getting Samuel back will help as he seems to be the best at getting open

Honestly I love the fact that Cam wasn't forcing anything deep.  There is something to be said for a 65% completion rate and no turnovers, especially in a close game like that.

I suspect the Cowboys defense is a lot better than people think.  I'm giving it a few weeks before I have any concerns about our WR's.

And just when things looked to be getting started on offense we lost Williams and had no RT. We still won though and that was big.

I thought Cam looked awesome.  He took what the defense gave him, was accurate mostly all day.  He fit some darts into some really tight windows. Ran like a beast.  Dallas has a really really strong defense.  They need to hang their hat on that this season.

Oh, I didn't know Torrey Smith was still collecting a free paycheck.

my complaint about the O after one game? Same complaint I had last year.

Did we even take one vertical shot all game? I can't remember taking one.

Even if you don't hit it.  There is no excuse IMO for not having speed on the outside and tossing one deep to put the opposing D on check.

This is a terrible way to look at it.

We ran deep routes, multiple times.  Dallas stacked over the top to take it away.  And for a change, Cam saw that, and said "Ok, fine, I'll feed the guys underneath".

I'm thrilled with our QB.  He finally took what was offered and didn't put our defense in a bad spot.  And our defense responded by making the Dallas offense look completely inept for 90% of the game.

You both must be forgetting about Cam overthrowing both Funchess and CMC on deep, wide-open shots. I think this is more a rhythm issue than anything else. Give it another week or two.

My only concern is that OL. It's literally going to make or break us this year.

    • This is one of my key concerns lost in the sauce that is the neverending conversation about him evading pressure and the OL. Eventually any QB is going to have to step up into the pocket and show the defense they can still beat them even if they get through. We have a limited QB who cannot consistently do this and as such we are relegated to going back and forth about how successful he was at evading pressure but we have little else to write home about. Tyler Shough stepped up into the pocket and made plays despite being pressured and sacked. He's played in about 35 less games than Bryce Young. That is a problem. And isn't just going to go away. The Bucs are going to do the same thing after watching the film.
    • Oh, absolutely! That doesn't absolve the absolute dogshit hockey that the team played in front of him, though. Only Cane that played well tonight was Bradly Nadeau.
    • Thanks for illustrating my point.  No one in the last several pages of this discussion is suggesting we should hang on to him, but anytime someone says anything less than "take him out back and shoot him" you act like they are. That's either you not understanding what you're reading or just being a nimrod because you can't keep up. (I would have said 'or just sh-tposting' but you're way too emotional on this topic for that) Either way, the result is the same 😆
