Through 2 games, can we all agree the playcalling is better?

I haven't really bitched as to why a certain play was run at a wrong time. Yesterday, down 14 in the 4th, we ran the ball to start the quarter and that is honestly the only time where i've been like why? Norv has definitely instilled confindence that it won't be a bone headed decision as to why we lost a game as opposed to other factors. More screens would be nice, but overall the passing isn't just 10 yard hitch or curl routes. Plus Armah gets involved.

Agreed. There really hasn't been a "WTF was that?" moment yet. Turnovers are down, delay of games are down, sacks are down (with a patchwork o-line), and Cam's completion % is WAY up. . That is Ron's perfect offense he wanted. Now, if Ron would just hold up his end of the bargain.....

I really liked the two plays where we sent Ian Thomas up the seams to clear the middle of the field for Jarius Wright and CMC. That's the play design we lacked. Offense will improve once we get some players back from injury and Norv finds the right balance with his personnel.

Considering we have such a patch work OLine, I love what I've seen. Some plays don't work, but they were also designed to have a starting caliber O Line giving time to develop.

Personally, I'd like to see less of CMC as a primary receiver, and more of Moore and Samuel (when healthy) to utilize their speed and mismatches they create.

I agree.

Personnel substitutions, however?  Choosing starters?  Through 2 games, I have been puzzled by decisions in those areas A LOT.

    • This is one of my key concerns lost in the sauce that is the neverending conversation about him evading pressure and the OL. Eventually any QB is going to have to step up into the pocket and show the defense they can still beat them even if they get through. We have a limited QB who cannot consistently do this and as such we are relegated to going back and forth about how successful he was at evading pressure but we have little else to write home about. Tyler Shough stepped up into the pocket and made plays despite being pressured and sacked. He's played in about 35 less games than Bryce Young. That is a problem. And isn't just going to go away. The Bucs are going to do the same thing after watching the film.
    • Oh, absolutely! That doesn't absolve the absolute dogshit hockey that the team played in front of him, though. Only Cane that played well tonight was Bradly Nadeau.
    • Thanks for illustrating my point.  No one in the last several pages of this discussion is suggesting we should hang on to him, but anytime someone says anything less than "take him out back and shoot him" you act like they are. That's either you not understanding what you're reading or just being a nimrod because you can't keep up. (I would have said 'or just sh-tposting' but you're way too emotional on this topic for that) Either way, the result is the same 😆
