That hit on Funchess was nasty and helmet to helmet.

There was no helmet to helmet hit. Hell, there really wasn't much of a "hit" at all. The refs missed plenty of holds on them throughout the game and those two incompletions they called for us where bullshit, so I don't feel the least bit guilty about being the beneficiary of a generous flag, but that's exactly what this was. I'd be pissed if this was called against us. It's not a foul.

There were awful missed calls going both ways.  Blatant calls. The only thing that could be argued is the bad call on the hit to funchess’ head was at a more critical point in the game but Boger is easily the worst official I’ve ever seen.  I wouldn’t say we were handed this game at all, there were a few awful ref decisions that ended drives of ours too.

Yes, it was helmet to helmet and it was illegal.  Could you imagine if every player went for the ball like that with no regard for anyone around them?  Everybody would be unconscious by the end of the game.

They screwed both teams a few times.  It balanced out by games end.

It was awful. The hit on Funch did not deserve a flag, the guy was playing the ball! on the other hand, Thomas caught that pass that RR had to burn a challenge on.

The Giants defender did hit Funchess helmet, but it was more incidental than anything.

CMC most likely did pick up the first down.  It was close but the ball got to where the yellow line was on TV.  That is assuming the yellow line was correct.  I was hoping they would call for a review though, to stop the clock.  But we didn't need it.

I heard the hit on TV so it must have sounded vicious on the field...likely influenced that call

I didn't hear it, but I was talking, so will take your word for it.

Ref's are human and make mistakes, I do think that was one.  Of course, I probably wouldn't be saying that if a similar call went against the Panthers.  lol

There is no incidental helmet to helmet contact against a receiver. And he wasn't the primary defender defending the pass. He came in the play from the side to dislodge the ball and hit Funchess with his helmet. It wasn't incidental it was intentional and gets called all the time.  If you hit a receiver with your helmet while he is turned to the ball and not seeing or expecting the hit it is illegsl and should be called. From what I saw it wasn't even close.

    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
    • At least we don't need to hear overreacting about towels ...
    • Actually there is, try being a Charlotte Hornets fan. I mean the team fuging moved at its peak and hasn't recovered since and that was 25 years ago
