5. Tyrod Taylor to a competitor (DAL, HOU, TEN, CAR)

Baker Mayfield has “won” the Browns’ quarterback position and won’t be giving it up amid a rough patch this season. Taylor was there to start in 2018 and challenge Mayfield in the summer. Now, fellow backup Drew Stanton is the valuable one, as he can teach Mayfield how to prepare and handle the various pitfalls of the position without threatening to take the job. Taylor, on the other hand, would be gold for an NFL team that suffers an injury at the quarterback position. Dallas, Houston, Tennessee and Carolina could all use a major upgrade at the backup position and could all theoretically win games with their current infrastructure and Taylor behind center if an injury occurred. Trading for a backup is the least sexy trade deadline swap…until you need one. Then, you’re pragmatic.

I've followed Tyrod since he's been drafted. Dude panics under pressure and even when he's not he doesn't see the whole field.

The Browns should definitely look into trading him, but the Panthers should absolutely not be interested. Maybe the Jags?

No thanks, if we trade for someone it should be to make us better.  If Cam goes down, we dont go to SB with or without Tyrod Taylor

no. no. no. no. If you think Taylor has skills that's because comparisons are against other Bills QB's. And they have major problems at that position, have for years. He's too timid for this team. Stick with Heinecke.

I think if Cam Newton got seriously injured..like out for the season, tepper would seriously consider  bringing in Kaepernick

I have no issue with Tyrod backing up Cam.

I have every issue with his contract.

I loath the thought of that happening strictly for an opinion I dare not mention.  But Kap would probably be the best option strictly from a football viewpoint.  But it won't happen because we have no cap space.  Plus, is he even in shape to step in at this point?

No.  In all honesty, any injury to cam and our season is toast, no backup will save it.  Heineke has as good of a chance at saving our season as tyrod Taylor does, so, pass.

Honestly, it's just a horrible list of team options. Why would any team with an established starting QB want to trade for a big money backup QB?

I'm sure you could find a post on the Eagles board from last year saying the same thing about Foles. 

I've thought Taylor has been undervalued but that's mostly looking at him for Fantasy. 

 @LinvilleGorge is right. We can't take his contract.
