Would you be satisfied and consider the season a success if the Panthers made the playoffs and were one and done?

But what happens IF Rivera, and Washington get this thing worked out? What if our D starts to look good? What if...

Ah hellz, it all comes down to those last 3 games. We should be in good shape going into those games. How we come out will be telling.

I agree.  Our next 4 games are all highly winnable games.  We should be going into those 3 crucial games at 10-3.  We're not done yet by a long shot, I just need to see a better product on Sunday.  I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt with the bad weather here and short week last week.  That was the most pitiful display of defense I have ever seen out of this team.

No.  That would just bum me out.  To be honest, anything less than a Super Bowl with Cam Newton in any season from now until he retires will bum me out.

We have the most wins of any NFC team since 2013.  We've made the playoffs every season but once since 2013.  We have a franchise QB.  So, really, a Super Bowl trophy is necessary.

With that said, if we made the NFC Championship game and barely lost to say the Rams, I would be bummed but I wouldn't be mad.  There's a difference.  One and done this year in the playoffs though?  I'd be pretty pissed off, even if it was close.  In all likelihood, we'll be a wildcard and we'd either be playing Chicago/Minnesota or Redskins/Cowboys/Eagles.  Vikings and Chicago are good teams, but games that we should absolutely win if we're serious.  And we would have the best quarterback in every single one of those games.

Oh I concur. The next 4 games is yuge for our Defense. Get right, and this team is a tough out. I don't want to think about any other scenarios. Teh D has to figure it out. They have too. Right?

I think most of us believe that our Offense can keep us competitive. It is the D that makes or breaks our Season. We are probably a Playoff team. How far we go is all up to Ron, and Eric to figure out.

I would consider it a success based on my expectations heading into the season. I wanted to see an improved offense under Norv, back to back winning seasons, and a playoff birth. Next year, my expectations will rise. I believe we have 27 unrestricted free agents. That will be the perfect time to make significant changes on defense and have a complementary team. Right now I dont see a defense that can hold up their end of the deal and make a deep playoff push, but I sure hope I'm wrong.

Depends.

I think if we made the playoffs (which this year will require a winning season) and get beat in a good game as we go on the road to face the Rams/Saints? I could live with that.  But those teams likely will have a bye.  I can't name and other team I would be okay with losing to first round of the playoffs regardless of location.

Cam will in all likelihood be the 2nd best QB in the playoffs behind Brees.
