Some pretty interesting observations there.

I only caught the last 5 minutes of the game so wasn't aware he didn't do any running.

Funny aside, Big Ben rushed it in for the win in their game!  It was only his 18th rushing TD in a 10-year career (Cam has 58).  I know Ben is roundly despised but today he made some really special throws into miniscule windows during crunch time.

You watched 5 mins of the damn game and have been in every thread running down Cam and you're in this one dick riding Ben. Lol. At this point one has to assume that this is the kind of representation thats wanted here

Cam is definitely hurt. He hasn't been the same since the shoulder injury in 2016. I haven't seen the deep ball he used to have. When was the last time we saw something like this?

As far as not scrambling, maybe it was part of the gameplan, but he could also be nursing an ankle or knee injury being kept quiet. Either way I definitely agree Cam isn't 100% and might never be the player he was before the shoulder injury.

Edit: Makes me wonder if the Panthers intentionally let Ted Ginn go because they knew after the shoulder injury that Cam's deep ball would suffer #conspiracytheory

Cam is definitely hurt.  I hate it, but he is.  Watch him throw the ball.  Set aside what we all know about his poor footwork, watch his arm.  He's almost shot-putting the ball at times.  He's throwing far less with his shoulder, and far more with his elbow.

I think Cam has been exceptional this year, but he's clearly not the same physically.

i didn't see the head whip a lot yesterday from him.  a few times.   hope he is getting rid of that even if it took being sore to do it.   he isn't the issue at all.    he's the job saver.   i hope that's not all he is during his time here.

Personally I think cam is starting to show wear and tear with all the carries and hits from years of unpresidented QB rushing. If you look at when Running Backs all start to slow down or hit the twilight of their rushing career it’s about now. He doesn’t look as fast to me or break as many sacks as young puppy cam.

That said he is is still a threat to run because the qb isn’t always accounted for. This was always bound to happy I suppose. But what I see as the silver lining is that we actually see he can still be effective without being as much of a runner.

Yep I believe the shoulder injury has hurt Cam and he has not had time to truly heal from it. Luck set out a whole year. May have been a different type of injury but to be honest he didn' t have real time to heal. Stupid Ron and company kept him in garbage games knowing he was hurt and did it again in the Pitt game. Ron is not a good coach. Detriment to games health and career. Mr. Yea I would have taken that shot Too! Terrible coach for Cam.

speaking of this play, I hope the Panthers send the tape to the league office because I just watched it 10 times and it seems clear as day it should have been a 15 yard penalty

"A rushing defender is prohibited from forcibly hitting in the knee area or below a passer who has one or both feet on the ground, even if the initial contact is above the knee. It is not a foul if the defender is blocked (or fouled) into the passer and has no opportunity to avoid him."

Especially this year, Cam RARELY gets hit on his runs, he gets down or out of bounds.  The more devastating hits are the ones in the pocket when the refs refuse to call penalties against guys targeting him.

Cam just dials back the running sometimes.  I wouldn't put too much into it.

technically he did take a read option up the middle but flopped as soon as the hole closed.

I think the lack of running had more to do with the the defense the Lions were playing.  Think Cam felt he had time and if he had time.....the pass would simply be there.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
