I hate Ron Rivera

I knew he wasnt the guy in the late hours of February 7th, 2016. His status quo approach to everything is infuriating. His stoic demeanor on the sideline is frustrating. His hatred of playing talented young players over washed up vets is unforgivable. His conservative approach to games, especially with a lead is outdated.

all that being said, I’m not sure how he is being blamed for losing today. We tried to make a statement on the first drive when we moved all the way down the field and Cam got stopped on a play he gets 9/10 times. The next redzone possession Norv gets obsessed with running McCaffrey up the middle. Getting 3 points total on your first 2 red zone possessions is a great way to keep an inferior team in the game.

In the second half we move down the field and Cam (who i think played a fantastic game today) threw a terrible pass in the endzone to a guy with about 3 career catches in double coverage. Why he is even getting a look with all the other weapons on the field is another question.

That’s 3 out of 21 possible points we got in those 3 red zone showings in a game where we missed a potential game winning field goal.

As much as I think the Rivera era has run its course, this isnt the game to blame him. We need to stop shooting ourselves in the foot. 3 of our 5 losses have come directly from what I would consider unforced mistakes

It was an asinine decision by Ron to go for it on 4 and 3 on that first drive, he should have taken the three points.  I would have been fine with it if its 4 and 1 but 4 and 3, no.  Same can be said about the decision at the end of the game last week.  He seems like he is coaching while also looking over his shoulder.  I think he knows his time has come.

At this point I seriously doubt we get to 9 wins.  Just a terribly frustrating year.  We have lost three games this year due to poor coaching game management.

Yes those mistakes were made, but at the end of the day we had a chance to put the game away with our offense. Ron and Norv decided otherwise and played right into Seahawks hands. As many times Russell Wilson has beat us with his escapalability, and that' even when had a good defense. You decide to leave time on the clock and trust your defense that had 2 key starters out in the secondary. Yes indeed my friend this loss is on coaching staff period.

No need to hate him as a man but he is a mediocre head coach on a cursed franchise that will NEVER EVER IN OUR LIFETIMES WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP.

never. It’s the sad sad truth. We can start a club with the lions, bengals, jags, cardinals, browns, and all the other teams that will probably never win a Superbowl either

    • And really, it should be 4 reasons with the last one being that there were ZERO other offensive weapons on that team in 2024, opposing defenses only had to worry about one player all year long and they constantly double and triple teamed him right off the snap all season.  In 2023, we still had Jacob Cowing who had 90 catches that year and was drafted by the 49ers last year, so teams couldn't just send everyone after T-Mac on every passing down.
    • I wonder if the Hornets view Kon and McNeeley more as forwards and plan to ship off Green/Okogie/Smith for center help. I hope they don’t plan to ship off Sexton as I like what he brings to the team. (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (3) G - Sexton, Dinwiddie, Connaughton (3) F - Miller, Knueppel, McNeeley, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (3) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner, Plumlee
    • 3 main reasons he was better in 2023 and none of them concern me for his NFL prospects 1. Totally new coaching staff that was a massive downgrade and had god awful play calling and designs, the entire fan base was ready to run the coaching staff out of town a month into their first season and the play caller ended up getting changed because it was so bad. 2. Along with the staff downgrade, his QB played significantly worse after being the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.  Constantly missed T-Mac when he was wide open, lost out on a number of TDs and a good amount of yardage, half the time T-Mac still almost made miraculous catches on the bad passes too. 3. He hurt his ankle over the summer and missed all of fall camp only to return to practice a few days before the season started and I think he had to deal with it all season long and was slightly limping at times mid season too, but kept fighting through it to still be a 1st team All American.
