Unpopular opinion : We are overusing Mccaffrey and it’s not good for the offense

The vast majority of our runs and receptions came from players that have been here 1-2 years.  

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, it has taken a couple of veteran WR injuries to force the hand of staff to give more opportunities to the younger guys.

You're taking me way too literally man.  I'm not saying he needs 25 -30 touches EVERY SINGLE GAME.  I also JUST got done saying that he hasn't gotten 25-30 touches every single game.  I'm saying that the players you lean on most are going to be the ones that get 25-30 touches a game.  He's one of those guys that is versatile enough to get those touches, and they are productive touches, as is every other player on the list I just jotted down.  Those are the guys you want to get 25-30 touches.

Not saying that's not true. That's using the skill set that we drafted. What I'm saying is that he gets additional touches when Cam gets pressured and has to go to the quick dump.

 

He's currently 20.4 touches per game, 6th among RBs.

Not all touches are equal. He's getting a lot of reception dump offs where he's not taking a hard direct hit like he would running it up the gut. 

I'm not worried. He's fine.

He's averaging over 6 YPT. If the defense is gonna leave him wide open on a dump off to pick up 10+, they're gonna take that every time. Only thing I would change is trying to make him a power/short yardage back.

That's how they used him in college , he's a work horse . I don't see anyone complain about rams giving gurly that work load mccaffrey can handle it
