funny story from this morning.  Got a buddy who works at a tv station and he's going to the game Monday.  I told him if he got the chance, don't miss the opportunity to punch Payton in the face, cause I'll pay the bail money.

He said a few years ago he was working in West Virginia and got sent to cover a Saints charity event at the Greenbriar.  Said Payton was as nice as he could be, and that after he interviewed Brees, Drew talked to him for about 20 minutes and even got some other guys for him to interview.  Said he as nice as he could be.

He told both of them he was a die-hard Panthers fan and he wasn't allowed to like them, and they just laughed.

I said well maybe if Sean sees you he'll remember you, and maybe come close enough to take a punch.

We can only hope.

colin kaepernick (dont make this about the kneeling- he was an overrated system QB who dressed like a 12 year old skater and made shitty Dre Beats commercials before the kneeling. going to the game in SF in 2013 and watching us sack him 6 times and see him fail to throw for 100 yards was glorious)

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
