Three of the top 6 paid players this season are on the defensive line. Yet here we are longing for defensive ends and interior players.

We need two stud rookies on the defensive line this season. Hope Hurn dog can knock it out of the park with a gem in the later rounds.

That table is a good example of how few "big money" players are really on each team.  I think casual fans overestimate the number of those.

With the limited number of big contracts teams can give out they have to make sure to be right on those.  Look at our top 10 cap hits, how many are living up to those contracts? Poe? Smith? Olsen hurt, Kalil? Shaq-will he get the snap counts to justify?

29.5 sacks over the last three season and 9 sacks last year as our only legit pass rushing threat. He's still worth that cap hit. Unfortunately, he's the only starting DL we have who is.

not the popular vote, but I say make kawann a post june 1st cut or trade, that clears $13 million, this will put Butler into a starting role and force Ron to get production out of him.  Draft a DT as a backup measure if Butler flops.

Our scheme was horrible last year so I'm willing to let them slide for a year. But this year if your not producing you should be walking next year.

Eh I’m not giving up on the players on the DL, particularly the DTs.  Everyone on defense looked bad most of last year. It was scheme. We’ll see if that’s any better this year.  And if getting a legit DE (hopefully) can help the DTs.

It is so hard to analyze this without knowing what kind of D we will be running next season.  

This may sound crazy, but I wonder if Poe had a negative impact on KK.

cherry on top is if Cam can’t get back (but I think he will) he’ll be eating money too

But if he doesn’t this is evidence it should all be blown up.

Shaq needs to be cut or extended.  His cap hit is laughable for what he’s done thus far. 

Personally, I’d cut my losses with him. We can literally draft his replacement in the third round of this years draft.
