"Disrespected:" Gerald McCoy Interview on Undisputed

Gerald McCoy was interviewed on Undisputed today. One thing that stuck out was the absolute feeling of disrespect he felt from the Bucs organization, and how even the three teams he visited (Ravens, Browns, Panthers) showed far more interest than they ever had.

Another thing that surprised me was how he wanted to be surrounded by veterans and people who know their stuff. He doesn't want to be around those who are still in their infancy at getting the hang of stuff at key positions. He loved the veteran presence at Carolina and that ultimately swayed him.

On Undisputed this morning, Gerald McCoy agreed that he joined Carolina over Cleveland because “One team feels like they can be winners, the other already knows they are winners.”

Hell yeah! I could care less about the Tampa jersey number stuff, but this is what I want to hear from McCoy

    • Right and I think we can have a conversation about that. But even with the scheme he should still be able to muster more than 1.5 sacks right? I mean DJ Johnson played in Evero's scheme too but that didn't stop us from calling him a bust. Scourton didn't seem to have trouble flashing. There can be different things true at one time.
    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
