Is Donte Jackson a “head case”?

I think he’s gonna be alright. It sounds like the criticisms were about the same stuff each time and I can understand his frustration at hearing the same poo from everyone— he knows what the issues are. Even if they are valid, it can still feel condescending. But also, he’s still making those mistakes. All I can say is I think those types of fixes aren’t always an on and off thing and time will show whether he applies fixes to his known issues or if he just keeps saying “I know”.

In those times you’ve gotta move past the fact you “know” and take the discipline to actually address and fix the issues by ironing them out. Gotta get over not trying to appear dumb to others or being defensive and just solve your own problems. That’s a mental hurdle that requires maturity to actualize. I believe in him getting there this year and going forward.

Donte is a “head case” the same way Smitty was a head case. No reason so worry about the kid, he was a rookie who knew his mistakes and wanted to correct them. He stated he knew it was an issue and that he is his own biggest critic. I’d be pissed also if Captain M was giving me advice all the time as well with the bum play he had on tape week in and week out.

All or Nothing showed that a rookie DB that was asked to start was immature, makes a lot of mistakes on coverage, and doesn't study the game like a vet yet?

hell, I agree w/ Jackson.  They did him wrong.  They simply wanted a story.  They picked him.   Jackson probably is pretty comparable to most of the league in his shoes.

Too many cooks...

Maybe.  But in my experience when those veteran leadership meetings happen most of the time it is with direction from the coaching staff.  If you watch the scene of Donte and Inmura it is clear the coach was out of his league.  There is no mystery why he was fired shortly after that.

He made plenty of mistakes all while pumping his chest like he was the second coming of Deion Sanders which seemed a little odd to me.  The great Crash Davis once said:  "be cocky and arrogant even when you're getting beat".  Jackson definitely took that one to heart.

Donte Jackson got roasted alive on a deep route and then when ape-poop on the sidelines claiming the WR pushed off. Replay showed the WR barely touched him. My point is that Jackson might end up being one of those hot head types who overreacts.

Guy is still growing so we can't fault him for that. Plus, we don't get the entire context or content of what was shown during the show. It may have been a 15-second clip of a half hour conversation. Nevertheless, I liked how 29, 41, and 25 (even if he didn't say anything directly) worked to coach up 26.

Don't think they did him wrong. No one filmed him behind his back or misquoted him. He said what he did and they recorded it. He isn't the only guy who looked bad or had issues. He knew it could be recorded and he participated willing or otherwise.  He didn't like the way they portrayed him or what they picked. He has that right but no one did him in as much as he showed his butt and did exactly what they were looking for. If he had shut his mouth and played along there wouldn't have been a story to begin with.
