Kid is raw and needs coaching

But again, that was said after his first year at Ole Miss and not much changed

I was real skeptical about the pick, kid has talent.  But his fundamentals and drive havnt been there

Maybe Ole Miss doesn’t have the best offensive line coaches. I feel like there was another high pick from there a few years ago that was talented, but still raw?

Honestly, in terms of technique he's pretty much a mess. He's a leaner and reacher with his upper body and everything about his kick slide and footwork appears very choppy and labored. He lacks the fluidity and smoothness that top LTs have. I think he needs a redshirt year. Hopefully he works out.

Little mostly went up against #47 on Chicago who looked quite a bit smaller. I don’t think Little is ready to start. And to those who say “yea but he’s a rookie”, I think he should be further along because of where they drafted him and what they gave up to get him. Could he and should he improve? Yes. But with Daryl Williams adjusting to a new position on the left side and coming off a knee injury, we are going to see Little start this season, I guarantee it. I hope he’s ready.

Personally I think they should put Moton at LT and put Williams back at RT where he was a second team all pro and let Little have some time to learn the pro game.

I’ll remain hopeful about Little for like 2 years. If we don’t have a guy who is a solid starter by then, we’ll know he’s done. Ideally he’ll be making a push by the end of the season or next. Best case scenario he makes a big leap after preseason.

Eh he'll be fine, needs to get some snaps. Somebody will inevitably get hurt anyway, I doubt he rides the bench the whole year.

Geez, if we are going to bash former players all the time could we at least get things right. We paid Kalil $25M, not $55M. Unless he was an all pro he was never seeing the backend of that deal. It amazes me the hoops people jump through to make people seem worse or maybe you don’t get how NFL contracts work.

Actually, maybe you don't get how NFL contracts work.  We still owe Kalil.  We're going to pay him 5 million this year and 10 million next year.  So yea, we won't pay him the full 55, we'll pay him 40.  15 of which we still owe.

We don't owe him anything. That money has already been paid. Bonus money is just prorated throughout the duration of the contract so it's still impacting our cap but he's no longer receiving money from us if that makes sense.

    • agree to disagree you are entitled to that opinion even though I find the argument completely bizarre based on data. I could type out a long paragraph discussing those areas but what’s the point. I posted a screenshot that showed Bryce in a similar post snap situation with a free rusher in his face which resulted in a TD - that’s what happened on the play so I posted it.
    • I've already addressed this notion in a previous reply. You are basing your assertion outside reality if you think Bryce would have not only been more successful but defeated the Patriots in place of Herbert. Bryce got blown off the field by that Patriots team with the highest paid OL in the league. We've seen Bryce with an OL that gave up 65 sacks and it resulted in the #1 pick. And that is not a defense of Herbert or arguing he is a great QB in any way. He has physical talent but he has been similar to Darnold early in his career in terms of his very up and down perfomances. However that does not change the fact that they have significantly less invested in the OL than the Panthers.
    • I think Tepper has been setting the stage where pending there is no miracle he wipes it all clean.  Think you already have been told that with small things like Evero staying.  Bryce is the guy next year.  OC, DC, everything stays the same.  QB room largely the same.  Nothing would really matter there.  They basically get one more shot and it goes how the schedule paired with our 27th ranked O predictably most likely goes.  Everyone out the door together.  Bryce is a bridge tier QB.  I don’t see Dave surviving where he could be bridge QB here in reality.
