Looks like 7th round WR Godwin made the team

Great, you found the one way he does not make the team.

Wait.. what? I think you may have misread this one. I believe he was saying that he didn't want one of our starters, such as CMC, doing kickoff duties. With Godwin on the roster, he can handle those duties, so it's better for everyone.

(Edit: Or I could just be missing the joking banter here... always possible, since I'm a dunce)

if they're counting on Godwin to be the punt returner, that means he's on the 45 on Sundays. I would think that means one of the vet WRs doesn't make the team.

Or will be deactivated.

I'd say Torrey Smith is the logical choice but, ya know...

    • I have to say it's quite fascinating seeing you pivot from months and months of wailing and agonizing about threads derailing into Bryce Young slingfests only for you to turn around and do the same thing. And just for the record. Nobody in life ever attained wisdom and clarity from mistakes by having people blindly fawn over them and tell them they are above reproach and incapable of making mistakes. Our front office is just as human as we are. And based on the fact that front offices across the league outside of a handful of teams change on a fairly regular basis it's safe to say they are certainly no more infallible than the average Joe even though they possess significantly more knowledge usually. If you want a utopia where all you do is shine shoes for anyone associated with the Panthers you go right on ahead and create yourself a new community sir. More power to you.
    • I trust Morgan when it comes to LBs so I think Wallace will do well.
    • Meh... he's just motivating himself. Plenty of guys who fall in the draft do this. I never fault a draft prospect for trying to get drafted as highly as possible, I mean that's your job in the moment as a draft prospect. Your analogy doesn't work because the dealership (maybe the individual salesman, maybe not) was trying to to obscure information. Johnson went through all the pre-draft medical checks. He wasn't hiding anything.
