Do Allen/Grier give us a better chance to win? Enough of a chance to make the playoffs?

  1. 1. Allen/Grier better option than Cam?

  2. 2. Allen/Grier good enough to compete for a playoff spot?

  3. 3. Allen or Grier?

Don’t understand how people can say Allen or Grier is a better option. Our two games have been close, they would be blowouts with either of our back-ups. If I had to pick one it’s obviously Allen. You play Grier when the season is lost and you want to see what he can do.

Now let’s discuss imo just my opinion but I’m gonna support it with what I’ve seen. On the Curtis deep completion he’s running wide open do you think Allen lays it out for a TD because there wasn’t major pressure it was a throw it to a open man and he could barely do that. Ok last week I felt the array of off passes are the reasons the drives stall not what other teams are doing just a qb not hitting a target even on one missed pass and two minimal runs equals a punt that possession. Example Curtis crossing the field ball behind him if it’s in front he picks up like 30 plus. The game has been close each week because of defense and special teams Cams been the weak link because he’s not allowing our players to catch and make a play. On the drive after the pick from BradB Cam with time missed Olsen Olsen then Curtis three passes in a row with out major pressure that’s the reason the score was still close because our qb wasn’t putting up points to get us a lead or extend the lead. It’s not we were close and almost won it’s we can’t win because our offense isn’t scoring controlling the clock or being productive consistently. If anyone can explain those last three passes with reasonable excuses I’m ready for s good convo maybe someone can embed the three misses or post them as gifs. And then tell me you think Allen misses all three and can’t complete any of those throws what is it I’m missing and let’s just stick to that first what makes Cam a better option when looking at those throws. And I’m not taking the game out of perspective but i want to have breakdowns so I can understand what y’all see.

Simple enough questions, want to see how we stack up here. Do one of Allen or Grier (your pick) give us a better chance to win games than Cam now, assuming nothing changes with him?

Do Allen or Grier along with the rest of the team give us a good enough chance to win to compete for a wildcard spot?

And which one?

No playoffs with or without them. I’d rather see Grier than Allen which I’ve made known here. Time to draft offensive lineman here this upcoming draft and then Fail for Fields or Lose for Lawrence next year.

Offensive lineman should be a priority(QB protection) over any other position then go after players to fill other much needed positions..

Allen is more ready than Grier. And if you have an investment (doubtful it endures) in Grier you could ruin it by throwing him to the wolves.

Therefore I am about Allen as the next in line, but not right now. You have to go two or three more games at least to give Cam a chance to come around. If he does not show any potential for a return to form, maybe Allen can win us a game or two.

Meh let Cam play a full season. No reason to scramble trying to go 8-8 with a back up only to have a shitty draft pick.

I get Rivera trying to prove he’s worth keeping around but as a fan I’d rather see how cam handles a full season and if not have a high draft pick for a new coaching regime.

Going 7-9/8-8 is really on of the worst thing that can happen imo

Better chance?  Who knows.  I can say this with confidence though:

Grier throws the ball more accurately, and with more touch then Cam.  That doesn't guarantee a win, because he may not make the same reads or decisions that Cam does.  Cam's problem is that he makes lots of good decisions and the ball just can't hit the target.  He's got the smarts, just doesn't have the discipline to work on his timing and accuracy.
