Something is not right in Carolina and it goes beyond Cam Newton

I believe John madden talked about ‘shelf lives’ with coaches as to why he retired from it so early as players stop listening

Rivera should have been gone two years ago.

He definitely  should not have been back this year and to my mind he is responsible for the demise of Newton

Concerning the atmosphere, Hope is gone  belief is gone based on Cam

he desperately wants to be the same guy   He tries to be  he can’t

my opinion is he can’t be, physically or mentally or emotionally  I feel like he has checked out and I started seeing it last year   Even the ball handing to kids seemed staged

he is far far too thin   No one wants to say this but it is football not basketball

the pain and the rehab has gotten old and he apparently spoke of depression last year  the shots to the head in sept 2016 and all the subsequent punishment behind an inferior line to now, who could blame him

I said it out loud in a thread from the stadium Thursday night and PhillyB flipped a bit over it I don’t care  I saw what I saw and it breaks my heart and everyone else’s heart  except assholes like Collin Cowherd who have never performed at a high level in their llife

Maybe he will have a few good games left. Maybe Superman isn’t gone.

We are talking about a very great and prideful athlete...a Heisman winnner. A mvp

regardless, god speed cam. Whatever you do, you gave me and friends in that stadium great joy

I agree 100% on coaches have shelf lives. I am starting to think that unless you have a legit dynasty and a coach like Bellicheck that gone are the days you keep coaches for years and years.

Im not saying it should be extreme like the Browns and change coaches every year, but I think every 3-5 years UNLESS you’re a Carroll or Bellicheck, 3-5 years seems to be about right to change coaches and keep things fresh

We need a new coaching staff/GM and we need to get Cam right next year. We have to try. I don’t think the guy we love is gone, I think we need a major shake up to get him back.

All franchises have done this. We’ve just been too slow on it. The way the league is now. Look at the best teams. We need to bring in a brilliant offensive mind to take advantage of the weapons and to see Cam with a coach that has a focus on that side of the ball.

This is basically a lame duck year at this point for a lot of the staff and players who are really just remnants of the JR era. Tepper's going to blow everything up after the season's over and put his own people in who HE deems have the best shots to make the team/franchise succeed.

And I honestly can't wait to see what happens. I'm tired of disappointment and inconsistency.

I think we are witnessing the lull before the coming storm. There is about to be a great upheaval in Panthers land - a revolution. The charge will be led by ownership.

The team we enjoyed through the 3 division titles and 15-1 Super Bowl run is forever but a memory. The Panthers are going to be redefined from stem to stern. Everyone can feel it inside.

Change and growth can be painful, but it is also inevitable. Let's just enjoy watching things unfold.

Rivera is gone soon. If we start 0-4 for example then I expect each game to be his last. Maybe he does too.

Cam looks like he’s not having fun,.. looks like he’s trying his best not to get hurt.

new coaching staff, new energy,... Cam from 2015 returns here or somewhere else.

The problem is I think the players have realized that just having Cam Newton on the field isnt enough to win anymore. As a fan I never thought there was a game we couldnt win because Cam was the ultimate equalizer and if he was on his game we could beat anyone. Now that it appears Cam has deteriorated I think the players realize they really arent that good of a team and A LOT of the roster and coaching flaws have been being masked by Cam for too long

Based on body language, they realized this when Buffalo came to Spartanburg.

Sometimes in business, sports and other things there comes a time when you realize the people you're entrusting to do a job just aren't cutting it.

Maybe you can put your finger on why, maybe you can't. Either way, you come to understand they just don't have what it takes to do what you want done.

Letting go of what you know and starting over with somebody new can be scary, but if it's the right thing you do it and you don't look back.

It's very possible that we have reached that point.

We just need a good coach period. Cam may be done or not but he sure isn't getting any help on either side from coaching. When was the last time Rivera's defense got two turnovers in a game?

All I got from that article is that she is trying way too hard.

it's actually really good writing. most journalists try to get creative and say poo like joe person's pregnant pause but it was evocative without explicitly trying to sound like an evocative piece

Yeah, so far the Tepper era isn’t real impressive.

You’re going to get pooed for saying what you did and I’m going to get pooed for my response, but it hasn’t really been worth a damn so far.

Retaining Marty Hurney.  Already planting the new stadium seeds when you’ve had a huge contingent of loyal psl holders. The whole throwing his weight around with the SC legislature.

Want to know why there is no energy in that stadium, he pretty much took a poo on psl holders with the new stadium talk and the silence on how all that would go down in the event that he were to get his way.

Literally the only worthwhile thing he’s done is put a bubble over the practice field.

dont get me wrong, he’s a huge upgrade over Richardson and I’m really excited to see him bring in his own people once this travesty of a coaching staff and front office is gone.  With that said, his body of work so far doesnt warrant the slurping he receives on the huddle consistently.
