You and I are on the same page on this one. I still think it’s too early with Allen to be all in on this theory.  But if he can continue to improve over the course of the season this team could be better off down the road with the ability to sign and retain the top 5 defense, add some additional Offensive weapons, sure up the OL and let Kyle do his thing for pennies on the dollar.

How are you going to get him for pennies on the dollar? As I understand it he's a restricted free agent after this season putting us in the driver's seat to retain him but if you trade Cam and show your hand he and his agent are going to demand a starting QB contract and they're going to hold out if you don't give it to them. "Starting QB contract" in today's NFL = $20M+ per year average.

Put yourself in the position of Ron, who was a front runner for losing his job this season.  You don’t know what you have in Cam right now.  Would you gamble your career on it?  I sure wouldn’t.

Trade being on the table i highly doubt, but both Cam or Allen could be available at some point in the near future

He's not a restricted free agent next year. He'll be an exclusive rights player.

Absolutely...it is amusing thinking any team would give up a 1st or 2nd for Cam at this stage.

Miami or Washington...why in the world would either do this?  Makes no sense.
