Per PFT Williams goes public with his side. He isn't going back and even if he is traded, he can still fail another physical by saying his head hurts, which they can't disprove. Totally on his side in this one. The move to not pay him this year adds another tradeable year on his current contract and Washington will just overpay another big name free agent who will come in and underwhelm.

According to the rules they don't have to. From what I am reading it is custom to negotiate or offer some portion of the money in cases like this.

Also from what I am reading the NFLPA will file a grievance as they do. No idea the further legal ramifications...
