Adam Schein’s pretenders/contenders list surprisingly has us as contenders.

Schien compiled a list of teams with winning records that are contenders or pretenders, Now of course he does throw in his usual Cam hate by saying if we go back to Cam we could go to pretender status, but pretty shocking he of all people has us as contenders.

That’s bc he is an idiot.

I mean he laid all his cards on the table. With Allen we’re contenders, with Cam we’re pretenders?  Doesn’t get much more obvious than that...there’s obviously SOME reason he has an unreasonable dislike for Cam. Can’t begin to fathom what it could be.

A contender with what expectations. I truly don't believe that we can make a deep playoff run, IF we even make the playoffs. Good defenses don't serve up 50 burgers!!!

48 points, 45 points, 38 points, 35 points, 37 points, 38 points, 45 points.....

Really isn’t a major difference between giving up 40 burgers vs 5.   Poo happens.  Those were good defenses. Those were postseason Ron teams.

This is what he said.

5) Carolina Panthers (4-3)

The NFC is unreal. Just looking at the 49ers, Packers, Saints, Seahawks, Vikings, Cowboys and Rams, that's seven teams vying for six playoff spots. And Carolina can be in that mix, too, if they keep Kyle Allen at quarterback. Don't downgrade him because of the 51-13 beatdown at the hands of the Niners. San Francisco, particularly on the defensive side of the ball, is that amazing. But at this point, Christian McCaffrey makes a compelling case for Offensive Player of the Year. The do-it-all playmaker is an absolute nightmare to defend. While I am always concerned about Ron Rivera holding the team back, Allen has been a breath of fresh air as a leader and steady thrower.

Honestly, I think the Panthers are right on the borderline here, which is why I have them listed last among contenders. If Carolina goes back to Cam, they could definitely spiral down into the pretenders.

So basically, he is safe to completely ignore.  And yes, this was after the 49ers game.

Thought the same thing. It’s nothing more than a clear shot at Cam. What a fuging clown.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
