Hurney needs to go

No way this dude should be employed by Carolina anymore.  Jerry's buddy even the 2.0 version when Jerry brought him back has not worked.

There is a reason the dude didnt get a phone call from 31 other teams after being released the 1st time.

This OL isnt Gettleman's anymore.  This is all Hurneys.  Outside of Moton and Turner, every OL is Hurney's .

Paradis is like Kalil with Gman.  His old franchise made it clear they had concerns about his future and wouldnt try resigning him.  Then Hurney makes him the top priority.  Now we have a high priced Center who is the worst Center in the NFL.

Williams resigning was Hurney

Pulling Van Roten from the CFL was Hurney

Trading up for Little and rumored possibly trying get him in the 1st.....was Hurney.  Despite every single scout (outside the panthers) and draft experts having Little late 2nd to 3rd rd guy.

The whole thing is utterly and completely pathetic! Bring college players in to completely replace this O line. This might be the worst O line we've ever fielded. Some people will say "well everybody's hurt". But do you mean to tell me there is not a practice squad in the NFL that has anybody available that could do better than this?

    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
    • They will still be a playoff team but they aren't contenders anymore IMO. They won't be able to spend like they have when they went to a SB and proved he couldn't carry a win at that level with a really good team around him. Now he is going to have to do it with less to spend around him. They just locked in to being a playoff bound team that's going to be a known speed bump for whoever will represent the NFC in the SB.
    • Hmm. I think he'll live up to it. Last year, about half of his team was on IR it seems, at one time or another. Year before, Super Bowl appearance. Year before that, playoff run after being third on the depth chart and being pressed into service. Is he one of the greatest in the game right now? Nope. No chance of that. Is he in the top 10 going into next season? Pretty good chance of that.  Would 20 or more teams in this league love to have the guy as their starting QB. Most likely so. He's a good QB who can implement his coach's game plan to a T and has both the confidence of and confidence in his teammates. That'll take you a long way in this league if you've got the right cast around you, and he does.
