This sounds like one of those lures a rival like the Saints would cast out, hoping it gets a bite and results in a big catch: the Panthers offering Cam a huge extension this offseason.

Worth the bits and bytes it takes to trot out there.  If it is such a ruse, the unfortunate part for the Saints (or whoever) is Tepper signs the checks, not Hurney.

Huh... you think this is some reverse we want you to keep cam trick lol. Just like the bucs saying kyle Allen is harder to defend than cam Newton huh...

What does that even mean.. a healthy cam Newton got this team to the brink of it and had one of the best quarterback statistical season in history. That said winning a super bowl isnt all on one player.. we saw that in the super bowl and cam Newton wasn't the reason we lost it.

I mean I don't know, maybe you'd feel confident going into the Super Dome against Cam Newton coached by Sean Payton.  Frankly I wouldn't.  Hot take but there it is.

yall are insane this makes perfect sense, fug sean payton's been trying to make taysom god damn hill happen bc he's so desperate for a multidimensional QB to scheme his offenses around, yall are insane if he wouldn't take a chance on cam and by god if cam is healthy they are going to be unstoppable

      Damn Logan Jones had a good day too. Was high on him coming in as he anchored that top Iowa line and is a fire plug inside. He's gonna be 25 to start the season so maybe he slips into the 4th but I doubt it, even if C isn't a premium position. His play on the field was top notch and the combine boosted it again. Arm length is about the only knock. But guy is plug and play at C.   This is a loaded class at C. Need to grab one.

      Bryce will be permanently replaced by a draft pick. There's not another Sam Darnold out there to save us. Tepper is going to see this throw because he dumped Mayfield and Darnold too soon. He's going to give it 1 more year before he will sign off on dumping another 1st round pick qb. Thats the cold hard truth of it. It doesn't mean we can't get younger and much better at the backup position.

      Maybe I should have used a different word and saved that for me. I want someone that has something impressive about them.  Someone that has potential to supplant a guy who is producing 25th best type of numbers. 22nd, 27th all that bottom third neighborhood.  I don’t know where that will come from it just can’t be from even a 4th round pick this year IMO. Unless FA is crazy productive.    I’ll give Bryce a better than bottom rating for his playoff game. Well above low twenties. But at least half of his games were bottom third level. Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of them were.
