2015 seems like ages ago..what happened?

Only took this team four years to go from a SB team to one that comes close to the 2010 debacle. Let's hear some thoughts on what caused this swift downfall.

I'm sure letting Cam get killed and not addressing the Oline was a huge factor. Watching the defense turn into a clown circus in that same time frame is ridiculous.

Was it the contracts, the drafting, or the coaching and front office that caused them to hit the skids so badly? Opinions???

I actually think we could've won a SB with Ron and Cam if Rivera would've just gone outside his comfort zone and picked an aggressive, new age OC.  It was so weird how we had Chud, then bastardized his offense into a Turner-Lite with Shula and then bring in Turner who is archaic in his ways honestly.  Put in the right offensive staff with more diverse short routes and non-huddle sequencing, and we would've been perennial contenders.  He continue to have solid talent and coaching who can't seem to get out of their own way.

Cam should've been attached by the hip to a fast paced E-P system since his rookie year.

I really think the history of the Cam/Panthers would be viewed differently if the Patriots got to the Super Bowl that year.

Defense would have given up more, but offense would have had a much better matchup.

Cam wins the Super Bowl, not dealing with a post Broncos like letdown.

Shula hopefully gets a HC job somehwere.

Then the following season he's not sent out there to get slaughtered with multiple head shots against the Broncos on open night.

Maybe Cam doesn't feel the pressure to chase a pick 6 down and ruin his shoulder?

The matchup you miss.

Most franchises don't fail and fall so fast. Somebody in the front office should have realized what was about to happen and save this team from itself.

Obviously JR wasn't up to it or to fuggin stubborn to save the organization.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
