We Are Going to Have the 8th or 7th Pick in the Draft in 2020. Who Do You Want??

what would we do with Little if we make Wirfs play LT? IMO Paradis is the main problem and I don't think the Panthers budge from him for at least another season b/c of his contract

If Little is good enough to play, leave him at LT

Play Wirfs at RT

Move Moton to LG like the Saints did with Peat

Paradis is a big Problem.  But lets not forget, this OL was still trash before Paradis.  GVR was one of the worst starting interior OL LAST year before Paradis was even here.

Paradis was bad this year though and we're not going to draft over him.   But we can put the 4 best OL we can on the field around him at least helps

Off-season starts right now for the Panthers.

So very early takes, who do you want with our coveted top 10 pick ? Not necessarily who you think the Panthers will pick, who do you want personally. Burrow and Young are going 1 / 2 most likely but anyone else is fair game.

Right now I'd say my top 5 are (In order)

  • Andrew Thomas (OT / Georgia)
  • Tristan Wirfs ( OT / Iowa )
  • Jerry Jeudy (WR / Alabama )
  • A.J. Epenesa (DE / Iowa )
  • Cedee Lamb (WR/ Oklahoma)

Who I dont want

  • Justin Herbert
  • Tua
  • Derrick Brown

We could easily be picking the best OT, OG, WR, or 2nd best DE.

WR might not be a huge need but Im pretty sure we need someone besides DJ. Curtis isn't the answer .

Wirfs... Lamb

I honestly think we are trading up for Tua. I don't think the new coach and possibly new GM will want to keep a broken down Cam Newton. At least that's probably how they view him.

I think they will trade up to get Tua and the rebuild will start from there.

Olsen already let the cat out of the bag and said he does not want to be in a rebuild situation next year. Writing is on the wall.

Probably too early to tell but I want to stop the run again as I think our secondary is sufficient. What I'm reading so far is Derrick Brown is a freak that can play 0, 1, or 3 tech...so stout against the run but can get to the QB while taking double teams, I'll take that all day. I think you can get high level interior lineman in the 2nd and 3rd, so for me a center then LG. Then I'd like to get a raw big man to eat double or triple teams we could develop for when Poe is gone. I dont like drafting tackles high because they usually either bust or dont play good for their first year and I'm of the opinion we have 2 good tackle prospects.

Tanking another year after this one - McCaffrey is gone

McCaffrey is not going to retire a Panther honestly. If you follow him outside of football he loves Colorado. It's his home state, we all know he's a Broncos fan. Would not be shocked if he ended up in Denver before he exits his prime.

    • It's been many a year since we were in December talking about how games mattered for something other than draft order. This crazy, mixed up, unpredictable, maddening, uplifting and teeth gnashing season has certainly not been boring.
    • If you look at Brown and Horn's contracts, expect to pay above what he is likely actually worth. This is the Panthers suckage tax. Ultimately, much like Derrick Brown, he has steadily improved over time and that's what you want out of your young first round draft picks. He was one of the biggest and most important question marks coming into the season and he has answered it conclusively. He is "the guy" at LT. Great news, one less position of extreme importance to have to attempt to remedy.
    • This is maddening because, well, it's so up and down. When the kid's on, he can be great. When he's mediocre, we can still win based on a strong running game and good defense. When he's bad, and over his history he's this more than not, then it's a sad show that no one could win with. How can anyone know what is going to happen right now? Really. It's like picking one flake in a snow globe and shaking it once a week... there is no telling where it will end up. Things I did see on Sunday from Bryce: his teammates love him; he can make the big throws with good protection and good effort from his receivers. He isn't afraid to run. He can rise up against the best in competition (but he can also sink to the level of bad competition).  All I can say is if Canales goes with an aggressive game plan for Bryce that leans on a hot-hand running game, the team can beat anyone. If there's any wishy-washy play calling, then Bryce melts and couldn't beat anyone.  Maybe the person Bryce needs to win over more than anyone is Canales.
