Del Rio should have been brought in when McD left, not last year. They kept promoting from within.

This also proves Ron needs a compentent DC to run his schemes. Ever since McD left, those guys clearly weren't DC material and Ron couldn't run it himself.

Del Rio is getting love on name recognition, not accomplishment. 

His last DC job was in Denver from 2012 to 2014.  In 2012, Denver had a top 5 defense, then slid to completely average the next two seasons.  The year after he left, 2015, the Denver defense was once again a top 5 defense.

As the HC in Oakland, his defenses were never above average.  As HC in Jacksonville, he had a good first few years, and then that defense tailed off to average.

The bottom line is that since 2008, Del Rio has coached exactly one top 10 defense, in Denver with Fox and that lasted one year.

Del Rio probably wanted a long term deal, no way that Tepper was going to sign off on that with these two at the helm.
