Saints appear ready to keep Hill over Bridgewater

And of those, several looked pretty good.

Also remember a rookie will have thrown zero NFL passes. Teams still give them starting jobs.

Bottom line: What we think of Hill isn't what weighs on the decision. It's what Payton thinks of him.

And of course, if his faith is misplaced, that's good for us.

Payton has let him throw 13 passes. It's pretty obvious what he thinks of him as a passer. Not much.

We'll see.

Hate to say it, but if I had to choose based on what I've seen so far, I'd probably take Taysom Hill over Will Grier.

Hell, I would too. Hill is a damn good utility player. I wouldn't be surprised if Grier never makes another NFL roster - including our own.

Heck, I think he is nearly 30.  Not sure they made the best call.  Hill is a value as a #3 and Swiss army knife.

Of course, Bridge is looking for a good payday--based on what he did this year, I bet he gets a deal equal to Cam's.  Don't laugh--someone will fork over $19-22m

in what way?  To my understanding, the Saints have zero QBs under contract next year.

No one will sign Taysom if he has a first rounder tender.

That in fact would serve as a deterrent from other teams signing him if they were to go that route.

I'm not sure if Bridgewater is the answer to the riddle, "Who will be the Panthers starting QB next season?", but I do know if Teddy starts for the Panthers, he will instantly become one of the top 3 QBs to ever to play a game for Carolina.

It would make sense given his knowledge of the system. In fact, one of the Saints beat writers already speculated about this as a possibility.

With that said, the price has to be right, and I question whether it would be.
