Albert Breer: Dontari Poe unlikely to be back with Panthers

Poe, once the dancing bear, is now the shuffling slug. His body is not getting any younger, and coming off an injury and rebuilding it's just time to dump him. He wasn't terrible, but his ass is now the size of a VW Beetle, and that is not good for stamina. All that fat saps energy as the game progresses because the heart has to oxygenate it, so you don't want you're d-linemen getting too porky.

the fug yall talking about?

he was playing great for us until his injury.

that said, get that old ass injury prone guy outa here and save the money

but don't be actin lost in the head by saying "he was terrible in charlotte".

He had some good games this year but faded and then got hurt for the year. Our run D was bad all year so he wasn’t ever “great” and he sucked in all fashion in 2018. After season ending injury, he’s not close to worth his cost anymore.

Called it...and Wright will be (w)right behind him.  Poe can't justify his salary with his play and the team can't justify his salary considering his age and performance in the face of a rebuild.

Too bad Marty restructured Short or he’d be another easy cut. He’s not worth an additional $14M in new cap for 2020. We just wasted $4-5M to restructure him last year. If we keep him this year we basically spent an extra $18-19M in cap. We did nothing with the extra cap space.
